Giants defense knows its better than its shown in maddening 0-2 start | New York Post
“Early in the season that can be a problem, you’re not really tackling when you’re practicing against your own guys a lot. Once it becomes real, these guys are fighting for every yard they can get,” linebacker Micah McFadden said. “It’s obviously an individual looking inwards, and making sure you’re doing your own job, but on top of that everybody running to the football and making sure you have everybody’s back if there is a missed tackle out there.”

Giants’ Daniel Jones failed to build on momentum in 2023. He can’t let that happen this year | The Athletic
Either way, entering Week 3, Jones needs to harness that momentum he created in Week 2 and let it propel him forward. He failed to do that last year. Instead, the 49ers game sent him and the Giants into a spiral. The Giants lost his next two starts, as he failed to throw a touchdown pass, fumbled twice and was sacked 16 times behind a wretched offensive line before suffering a neck injury that caused him to miss three games. He returned in Week 9 only to take two sacks and suffering a season-ending ACL injury.
Any glimmer of hope from the Arizona game faded fast after that 49ers defeat.
NY Giants: Stakes high for improved offensive line against Browns | The Record
“Yeah, he’s a good player, for sure,” Giants quarterback Daniel Jones said of Garrett, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year. “He’s a good player and has the ability to affect the game from a pass rush standpoint and the run game also. You’ve got to have a plan, a protection plan. Luckily, we’ve got AT (Thomas). AT is an incredible player, and we’re very confident in that matchup.”
Giants Challenge: Slow Down the Browns’ Pass Rush | SI.com
“It’s huge,” right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor said of the challenges the Wide-9 places on an offensive tackle. “It affects everything, especially when you have a tight end right there and Myles is so wide where you’re like, ‘How am I gonna set him?’
“As a wide nine, it’s an easy approach to the quarterback. All he has to do is bend the corner, and you have to be good at bending the corner like him. There are only a few select guys in the NFL who are good at bending the corner like that. So you have to be able to get out there with enough width and enough space, but also enough depth in the pocket too, where you’re not in [quarterback] Daniel’s [Jones] hip.”

Players to watch this weekend in Cleveland | Giants.com
While the Browns have a stout defense, the area to attack is on the ground. Cleveland has surrendered over 100 yards to both the Cowboys and Jaguars this season, with an average of 114.5 rushing yards allowed per game. They have also given up an average of 5.0 yards per carry this season, tied with the 49ers for the seventh-highest in the league, in addition to two rushing touchdowns.

2. Miller Moss, QB, USC. The Giants make no mistake here, at least with the position they’re targeting. Moss has displayed flashes of NFL-caliber skills at USC, and his head coach has a long history of producing quarterbacks the NFL loves in the draft.

Myles Garrett misses practice with his foot injury | Pro Football Talk
Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett, who vows to play through his foot injury, did not practice Wednesday. It’s part of the load management the Browns will have to do with the reigning NFL defensive player of the year. He played 41 snaps — 68 percent of the defensive snaps — on Sunday after missing last Thursday’s practice and getting in limited work Friday.
Browns offense: Deshaun Watson’s receivers among best in NFL separating | Dawgs By Nature
The Cleveland Browns passing offense has not been very good this year. Unfortunately, figuring out blame in the NFL can be very difficult. So far, QB Deshaun Watson played horribly in Week 1 and adequate in Week 2, the offensive line has not been good, pass catchers have dropped too many passes and a few play calls from Kevin Stefanski were questionable.
Interestingly enough, Watson’s group of receivers, including newcomer Jerry Jeudy who played well in Week 2, are the third best at creating separation from defenders so far this season.
Browns rookie DT Mike Hall Jr. pleads no contest to reduced charge in domestic violence case | NFL.com
Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. pleaded no contest in court Thursday to a domestic violence charge, and remains away from the team. Hall was arrested on Aug. 13 following an alleged altercation with his fiancee at the home they share in Avon, Ohio. The couple argued over finances and she accused him of threatening her with a gun.
Hall remains on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, based on the initial charge. The NFL is reviewing his case for possible punishment.
