The Philadelphia Eagles won’t have to face Rashee Rice when they play the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season.
Rice accepted a suspension that will keep him sidelined through the first six games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. The NFL reportedly wanted Rice to serve a 10-plus game suspension, but ultimately the two sides settled in the middle.
It was smart for the Chiefs to get the ruling before the start of the season, especially with Rice coming back from an injury that kept him out for all but four games of the 2024 season. Now, he’ll get to make sure he’s fully healthy, and join the active roster later in the season.
While the Eagles won’t have to face the Chiefs offense with Rice on the field, the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders will both play Kansas City after the wide receiver’s return.
