Earlier this week the San Francisco 49ers traded with the Kansas City Chiefs for wide receiver Sky Moore, and now they’ve traded with the Washington Commanders for running back Brian Robinson Jr. What does it mean? Well, if nothing else, it means that the 49ers think these moves will improve their team right now.
Will the moves work? Like so many things in life, we have to wait and see.
Did the Rams inquire about Brian Robinson? I wouldn’t be shocked of Les Snead made a call, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it wasn’t a serious inquiry either, as L.A. does seem content with Kyren Williams and whoever can back him up on the roster now, which appears to be Blake Corum, and they’ll have to trust whoever can earn the spot behind Corum.
Today, we have a Rams preseason game, so hopefully you’ll join us in the Game Day Thread, but either way, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times, and enjoy your weekend! Go Rams!
Commanders trade Brian Robinson Jr. to 49ers after sudden falling out (nypost)
“Brian Robinson Jr.’s Commanders saga has come to an end.
Washington traded the running back to the 49ers on Friday for a 2026 sixth-round pick, according to multiple reports.
The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his four-year rookie deal and provides much-needed depth behind Christian McCaffrey in the San Francisco backfield.“
Rams going with seldom-worn uniform combination vs. Browns on Saturday (ramswire)
“In the preseason finale on Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams will be wearing a uniform combination that they rarely deploy anymore. They’re pulling out the all-blue set for their game against the Cleveland Browns, rocking blue jerseys, pants and socks.
The Rams have only worn that combination once per year in each of the last four seasons after wearing it twice in 2020, the first year with their new uniforms. Fans aren’t exactly in love with this monochromatic look, which is probably why the Rams rarely wear them during the regular season.“
9 Rams players to watch vs. Browns on Saturday (theramswire)
“The Los Angeles Rams held their final preseason practice on Thursday ahead of their last exhibition game against the Cleveland Browns this weekend. They’ll be on the road for the first time this preseason, visiting the Browns on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
The Rams have already determined most of their 53-man roster spots but Sean McVay said on Thursday that there are still a few jobs available heading into the preseason finale. So who should we be watching when Los Angeles takes on Cleveland?
Here are nine players to keep a close eye on Saturday.“
