The Minnesota Vikings are thin at the WR position. Jordan Addison will miss the first three games on suspension. Jalen Nailor is battling a hand injury. Jefferson missed time last season with a hamstring issue and has missed a large portion of camp this year. The team will likely be bringing help in from the outside.
Rumors have started swirling that the outside help might be an old friend. The Vikings have reportedly expressed interest in brining back the Minnesota native. Thielen turned 35 today, for a WR, he’s old. However, if the Vikings are looking for a 3 game bridge, I can’t think of anyone better. I don’t think Thielen is coming in for another 1,000 yard season, but I could easily see him at WR 3/4 after Addison’s return, catching a few key passes a game. I don’t want the team to break the bank, but it should only take a late round pick. That’s cheap for someone that can make an immediate impact and help JJ McCarthy get to a nice start.
