NFL Preseason Week 2 Game Recap: Los Angeles Rams 23, Los Angeles Chargers 22

Los Angeles Chargers
As Matthew Stafford‘s back injury lingers, and his return date grows more uncertain, the Los Angeles Rams are taking no chances with their thin quarterback room. For the second straight week, Stetson Bennett IV went the distance. And for the second straight week, he looked good doing so.
While three turnover-worthy plays stained Bennett’s stat line — 28-of-40 passing for 324 yards and three touchdowns — his final drive was all that mattered. With just under a minute and a half remaining in the game, he marched the Rams down the field for a game-winning touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers, leaving just 5 seconds on the clock.
The 23-22 score moved the Rams to 2-0 this preseason with Bennett under center. It remains to be seen whether his services will be needed in the regular season.
The Chargers got an excellent effort out of rookie wideout Tre Harris, who secured all six of his catchable targets (eight total) for 85 yards.

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Welcome to the NFL, Tre Harris. He finished the contest with two contested catches, one a breathtaking sideline grab for 34 yards. The breakout showing comes after he posted consecutive donuts in the catch department in the Chargers’ previous preseason contests. Harris is on track to earn an 80.0-plus PFF receiving grade, pending reviews.
