If you ask me, there’s nothing better than Detroit Lions football at the 1 p.m. ET timeslot. It just feels right, and it leaves you the entire evening to bask in the glory of a Lions victory, or do some yardwork to ignore a Lions loss.
On this Saturday afternoon, the wins and losses do not matter. If the Lions move to 2-1 or 1-2 this preseason, there won’t be a single soul (other than maybe Dan Campbell) that really cares. But that isn’t to say the game between the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins isn’t meaningful. For the players playing, it’s critical, and several of them may have jobs on the line.
But for us, the Lions fans, Saturday represents something else: the first home game of the season. Ford Field may not be filled to the brim for a preseason game, but I cannot wait to feel even a fraction of the energy that emanates from the stadium, and that starts Saturday.
For those of you at home, you can feel the energy of Lions fandom right here, in our Lions vs. Dolphins live chat. When the game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET, simply scroll down to the comment section below and hang out with our awesome Lions community. Share your observations from the game, your favorite highlights, and talk about how that may impact Detroit’s 53-man roster—which must be finalized in 10 days!
When the game is at halftime, head back to the front page and be on the lookout for the live chat for the second half. After the game is over, we’ll have a bunch of other opportunities to discuss the game, including our game recap, winners/losers, and primary takeaways.
Enjoy your Saturday, and go Lions!
