The Rams are not putting Cooper Kupp on IR yet, but Jonah Jackson, John Johnson out at least 4 weeks
The Los Angeles Rams placed center Jonah Jackson and safety John Johnson III on injured reserve on Wednesday, but Cooper Kupp has so far avoided an IR stint. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “there are currently no plans to place WR Cooper Kupp on injured reserve”.
Kupp was in a walking boot after Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals and there was speculation about a long-term absence. The first real news we have from the team on the situation is overall positive, because the Rams wouldn’t hesitate to put Kupp on IR if they thought he was definitely out for four games due to the fact that L.A. is already short on receivers with Puka Nacua on IR.

There currently are no plans to place WR Cooper Kupp on injured reserve.

The Rams will need to start their backups at center and guard for at least the next month, which at this time are Logan Bruss at guard and Beaux Limmer at center. However, A.J. Jackson does return from suspension just in time to take over for Joe Noteboom, who is also on IR.

John Johnson was a late addition to the roster, which doesn’t necessarily speak highly of the team’s opinions of offseason additions Kam Curl and rookie Kamren Kinchens, at least as far as what they were seeing in offseason practices and training camp. Johnson then had an interception in Week 1 against Jared Goff. The only other safety on the roster besides the Kams is undrafted free agent rookie Jaylen McCollough. Tanner Ingle and Quindell Johnson are safeties on the practice squad.
