Rookie wide receiver looking forward to Week 3
Despite the New York Giants’ difficult 0-2 start to the 2024 season, wide receiver Malik Nabers remains focused on moving forward. Following a critical drop in the previous game, Nabers addressed how he plans to move past the moment as the Giants prepare for a Week 3 game against the Cleveland Browns.
“I’ve just got to put that behind me,” Nabers said. “I’ve been catching extra passes after practice, and I’ll keep doing that.”
With the Giants 0-2, Nabers emphasized the importance of perseverance and team unity.
“You’ve got to keep your head down, work a little bit harder, and stay together,” he said. “We have to go in with a great attitude. A sloppy attitude only leads to another loss.”
Despite the early-season setbacks, Nabers remains confident.
“Talent is everywhere, but hard work beats talent,” he remarked. “We’ve got great veterans in this locker room that lead the team. We’re going into Cleveland with a positive attitude.”
Following the emotional loss, several veteran teammates provided Nabers with support.
“It meant a lot that they had my back,” Nabers said. “It only makes the bond stronger. They took the time to talk to me, which shows that we’re in this together.”
Nabers and his teammates are not giving up despite the slow start.
“You work hard every game to get the W. It’s not just one game. It’s not just because we’re 0-2, we’re trying to get a W,” Nabers said. “You work hard for every game. The outcome is not the outcome, but as long as your attitude is right and you go out there and continue to grind, continue to try to get a win, that’s all that matters. With the outside noise, it’s just what it is. It’s the people in this room that makes the team.”
