Eagles survey season-ticket holders regarding new stadium – PFT
The Eagles have talked openly about the possibility of replacing their home stadium. They’re now openly asking their season-ticket holders about it. Via Zach Berman of PHLY, the Eagles sent an email to season-ticket holders regarding the future of the stadium. “To help guide this vision, we’re exploring potential updates to Lincoln Financial Field — including both renovation options and the possibility of a brand new stadium in the region,” the email explains. As Berman notes, the current lease runs through 2032. Also, if (as owner Jeffrey Lurie has said) the goal is to play a Super Bowl in Philadelphia, a dome would be needed.
Eagles Training Camp Practice Notes: Position battle updates – BGN
JALEN HURTS UPDATE: Yet another day where the ball rarely hit the ground. BGN alumnus Eliot Shorr-Parks has Hurts down for just seven incompletions (86/93) in five media-attended practices this offseason. And though there have been a lot of shorter completions, it’s not like Hurts is entirely avoiding difficult throws. He actually made one of the most impressive practice passes I’ve ever seen from him on Thursday. During 7-on-7, Hurts fit the ball in an extremely tight window to Dallas Goedert with Jeremiah Trotter Jr. trailing close behind the tight end and Sydney Brown having coverage over the top. Hurts also had a nice play-action completion to DeVonta Smith along the left sideline for about 15-20 yards. One of Hurts’ rare incompletions came when Zack Baun ranged over for a pass breakup. Weird to see a defender manage to get a hand on one of his passes. But not shocking that Baun is capable of making that play.
Six takeaways from Eagles DC Vic Fangio’s initial training camp press conference – PhillyVoice
The Eagles were kinda light on depth last season on the interior of their defensive line, but everyone stayed healthy so it didn’t matter. With Williams gone, it will be a committee approach in picking up his slack (they’ll replace him just fine, in my opinion), but the depth could be depleted even further. As for under-the radar guys like Byron Young and Gabe Hall: “We had a one-hour practice yesterday without pads on and we need to see the pads on,” Fangio said. “But I do think both of those guys, particularly Gabe, the practice squad is made for a guy like Gabe. He’s got some ability. He was coming off an injury in college. It was really good for him to be here, practice, be a part of it without the stress of having to play in the game and B.Y. we got during the season, did a good job for us and we’re anxious to see — he never got to play for us — but we’re anxious to see what he can and can’t do.
2025 Philadelphia Eagles training camp: Latest intel, updates – ESPN
Edge rusher Jalyx Hunt has been getting a lot of love from his teammates early on at camp. Left tackle Jordan Mailata said he “has tendencies like Micah [Parsons], to be able to cut on a dime like that,” adding that Hunt is “going to be a star.” Fellow edge rusher Nolan Smith struck a similar tone, saying Hunt was going to be “the best thing since sliced bread.” The Eagles need someone to step up following the departure of Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat, and Hunt is the primary candidate to do so.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl movie from NFL Films is finally here, with a DVD on the way – Inquirer
Nearly six months after the Eagles’ lopsided defeat of the Kansas City Chiefs, NFL Films has finally delivered the Birds’ official Super Bowl DVD… minus the DVD. Instead, the 86-minute look back at the Eagles 2024 season and Super Bowl LIX victory is now available to stream on the Roku Channel, which is free and available as an app on just about any system and TV. The obvious question is what took so long? NFL Films last produced a Super Bowl DVD highlight reel — known as the “instant highlight” in the halls of the company’s South Jersey headquarters — following the Chiefs’ narrow win against the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.
Eagles’ A.J. Brown called young star a name that he didn’t agree with: ‘I thought he was crazy’ – NJ.com
Brown, a three-time All-Pro, explained this same point to DeJean, who is now on board with being called “APC” or “All-Pro Coop,” recognizing that he has to believe it first to make it happen. “Yeah, I thought he was crazy. I thought he was crazy,” DeJean said Thursday about his first reaction to Brown’s nickname. “But when he explained it to me, he’s trying to speak it into existence for me. That gives me something to work towards and come out and try and improve every single day out here.”
Spadaro: Cooper DeJean is living his best life – PE.com
This was the dream scenario: On DeJean’s 22nd birthday, February 9, 2025, he intercepted a Patrick Mahomes pass and took it to the house for a touchdown as the Eagles blasted Kansas City in Super Bowl LIX and DeJean was, instantly, a national name. The second-round draft pick from Iowa lived the storybook scenario as the Eagles captured the Lombardi Trophy. Things haven’t slowed down for DeJean since then as he continues to grow, mature, and gain more responsibility in the Eagles’ defense. He has handled everything thrown his way in the last several months – all the fame, all the opportunities, all the asks. And here is he, piling on the football hats as a safety, a nickel cornerback, and, potentially, an outside cornerback. In his second season, DeJean has the trust of the coaching staff and the organization to represent the Eagles in the very best way.
Percy Butler signs 1-year extension with the Washington Commanders – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders have signed safety Percy Butler to a 1-year extension per Tom Pelissero. There were no details on the value of the deal. Earlier this offseason, Washington extended another safety who is a special teams standout during the offseason, keeping All-Pro Jeremy Reaves on the team for another year.
Dallas Cowboys injuries: Terence Steele not practicing on Thursday, getting ankle looked evaluated – Blogging The Boys
The Dallas Cowboys held their third practice of training camp on Thursday, the final one before their first day off. Suddenly we are knee deep into all of this. As action was underway in Oxnard all of a sudden word started to emerge that starting right tackle Terence Steele was not a part of the practice. More word circulated and it was being reported that Steele was having his ankle evaluated. Nick Harris of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram noted that the issue is not viewed as a major one for the team.
Extending Elite NFL Players – Over The Cap
Waiting to sign an elite player is pointless for many reasons. While there was a time where contract squabbles were somewhat substantial and both sides could win or lose in these type of fights, todays NFL pretty much always has the same result- the next elite player to sign will be the highest paid player at the position. The next close to elite player to sign will be top 5 at the position. So by waiting all a team is doing is allowing the market to rise and thus the player cost to rise. If you look at where the EDGE market was last year, when the Cowboys could have extended Parsons, it sat at $34 million a year. That was also the top number for non highest paid QB. Parsons was going to earn much more than that, but would he have hit $40M a season? Maybe, maybe not. Would it have topped $40 million a year? Doubtful since he would have been the first ever “$40M a year non-QB” had Dallas signed him last season.
Giants safety Tyler Nubin ready to lead in Year 2 – Big Blue View
The New York Giants have retooled much of their defense this offseason, adding veteran playmakers and young stars in an attempt to fix a unit that struggled throughout 2024. But amid all the big-name additions, one player already on the roster is generating some of the most buzz as training camp heats up: second-year safety Tyler Nubin. After a strong albeit shortened rookie campaign, Nubin is being widely viewed as a breakout candidate in 2025. The former University of Minnesota standout logged 98 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in just 13 games before a foot injury ended his season prematurely. Now healthy and back in his family’s No. 27 jersey, Nubin is embracing the opportunity to lead and elevate his game.
Raiders shockingly release Christian Wilkins, and now the NFLPA is getting involved – SB Nation
The Las Vegas Raiders are parting ways with veteran defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. And a fight with the NFLPA is now on the horizon. Wilkins signed a massive five-year, $110 million contract with the Raiders in March of 2024. In that deal $82.75 million was guaranteed, with $57.5 million guaranteed at the time he put pen to paper on the contract. Wilkins suffered a Jones fracture in his foot last October, an injury that required surgery and ended his season. According to multiple sources, with Adam Schefter among the first to report the move, the Raiders released Wilkins with the designation of “terminated vested veteran,” and “[d]ue to how Wilkins treated the rehab from his foot injury,” the team “voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on” his contract last month. Wilkins filed a grievance today. Under the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, the NFLPA had 50 days to file a grievance, starting with the day he was released, which was June 4.
