And they’ll have a different look, too
Minnesota Vikings legend Jared Allen is set to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame a week from Saturday, and his former team will be honoring him as a part of their 2025 regular season home opener.
The team announced a short time ago that they will be honoring Allen and his enshrinement at halftime of their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Atlanta Falcons at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, 14 September. Allen will get his Hall of Fame ring during the ceremony.
Allen played for the Vikings for six seasons from 2008 to 2013 after being acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs. During his time in Minnesota, Allen was three of his four First-Team All-Pro nods and four of his five Pro Bowl selections. He is also a member of the team’s Ring of Honor and was also named one of the 50 greatest Vikings of all time.
The game against the Falcons will be the first of two games this season where the Vikings will don their “Vikings Classic” uniforms. They will also wear the uniforms for the regular season finale when they host the Green Bay Packers on a date that has yet to be determined (it will be either 3 or 4 January).
If you need your memory jogged a bit, the Vikings Classic uniforms look like this:

The Vikings are currently 1-2 in these uniforms, which made their debut in 2023. They lost both games in 2023 in those uniforms, falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Chicago Bears, before throttling the Houston Texans last season to get into the win column in the old school uniforms.
Are you going to be in the house in Week 2 when the Vikings honor their latest Hall of Fame enshrinee?
