Benito Jones takes home the first Orange Jersey Award of training camp.
The Miami Dolphins are taking the field for their second practice of training camp, however since no award was given yesterday, today marks the first time a player will be donning the bright orange threads of the Orange Jersey Award given to the team’s best practice player from the previous session.
Today’s recipient was defensive tackle Benito Jones!

Jones is entering his third season with the Dolphins (2020, 2024, 2025), but faces stiff competition for reps as the Dolphins drafted three defensive tackles in the 2025 NFL Draft — Kenneth Grant (1st round), Jordan Phillips (5th round) and Zeek Biggers (7th round).
Jones, known primarily for his run stuffing ability, has only totaled 2.5 sacks in his four year NFL career (two seasons with Miami and two with the Detroit Lions). He has 13 total quarterback hits, while never forcing or recovering a fumble. Jones has amassed a total of 68 tackles since entering the league.
