The Browns were able to bounce back with a win in Week 2.
The Cleveland Browns rebounded with a win in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday to move to 1-1 on the season. While it wasn’t pretty, you will take wins by any means in the NFL, as head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed in his post-game speech to the locker room.
The Brownies were flowing after the game, although a few Frownies as well, in our weekly winners and losers post. There are still concerns with WR Amari Cooper and the team’s ability to close out games but a win is a win in the NFL.
The Browns climbed our AFC North power rankings this week as well.
The previous week had been filled with turmoil after a lopsided loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the home opener was followed up by reports of a new civil suit against Deshaun Watson. While panic had set in amongst a large majority of the fan base and media covering the team, Stefanski focused his team on the task at hand in his typical back-against-the-wall fashion.
Watson was also able to steady his play at quarterback to help lead an improved offensive unit. While it wasn’t perfect it was the kind of performance that offers a glimmer of hope for continued progress as the team gets healthy and more comfortable playing together in the new scheme.
Our question of the day for the Dawg Pound is the following: Did Sunday’s win against the Jaguars ease your concerns about this season moving forward?
There is still plenty to clean up, especially on the offensive side and the latest allegation against Watson will likely continue to linger over the team. There are also three consecutive games on the schedule that the Browns should be the favorite in.
Now let’s hear your thoughts on where the team stands heading into Week 3. What were you encouraged by in the win over Jacksonville and what are you still worried about? Drop down to the comment section to share your opinions.
