Bengals adding another free agent OL remains unlikely

The front office seems pleased with the guys in the building now

The 2025 training camp is just around the corner as the Cincinnati Bengals gear up for a massive season.

Playoffs are a must, and a deep postseason run is needed, as the team looks to get back on track.

One of the biggest issues needing to be addressed (yet again) this offseason was the offensive line, specifically the interior.

It likely comes as no surprise, but the Bengals made minimal efforts to bolster the guard position by signing Lucas Patrick, resigning Cody Ford, and drafting Dylan Fairchild.

With plenty of cap space and veteran free agents still available, it is fair to want the Bengals to bring in a few more guys to really help the line for Joe Burrow.

But, Paul Dehner Jr. recently wrote, “New offensive line coach Scott Peters sounds content with those battles, and there hasn’t been a clamoring to add another body to the mix.”

That simply puts the hopes to rest for now as the front office is clearly content with the guys on the current roster heading into training camp.

It is incredibly disappointing to see the front office doing the bare minimum for Joe Burrow’s protection, but this is something we have gotten accustomed to seeing.

Now we can only hope that Scott Peters and the new additions will be enough to keep Burrow clean throughout the season.
