NFL Week 2: Chiefs comfortable winning ugly; what we learned from every Sunday game | FOX Sports
There is so much focus on Daniel Jones and the Giants’ quarterback issues, but it’s starting to be clear that their defense is going to be a problem. The Commanders put up 425 yards and held the ball for 37:32. The bend-but-don’t-break nature of this defense has its merits, but it’ll be a disaster against better teams and more seasoned quarterbacks. Their pass rush is doing a lot of getting close, but not finishing the job. And their secondary has real coverage and tackling issues. They barely gave their own offense a shot.

While crucial drop will haunt Malik Nabers, he made it clear he can carry Giants pass offense | The Athletic
Through two games, Nabers has fielded 25 of the Giants’ 65 targets (38.4 percent). Entering “Monday Night Football,” that’s the No. 1 team target share in the league. Los Angeles Rams superstar Cooper Kupp, who exited Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, is second at 36 percent.
Will Daniel Jones be the next starter to be benched? | Pro Football Talk
As noted over the weekend by Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, Jones has a $23 million injury guarantee for 2025.
Jones performed better in Week 2 than he had in Week 1. Still, he’s not good enough and the Giants are not good enough and at some point before too long it could be time to make changes. With $25 million riding on Jones staying healthy, that could be the variable that gets Jones benched.

“Defensively, we got to do a better job tackling,” linebacker Bobby Okereke said. “Need to shore up our run fits and just have more discipline doing our job. Talking about me specifically, (it was) kind of three quarters doing your job, a quarter trying to do someone else’s job, trying to make a play. And that trickles down. I think everybody needs to focus on doing their job.”

Mike Francesa thinks Brian Daboll has completely changed: ‘Wants to jump off a bridge | New York Post
“I’ll tell you something — when I see Daboll now, I don’t see the coach who had a little glint in his eye and a little swagger in his first year. I see a guy who wants to jump off a bridge,” Francesa said. “And I see a guy who just wants to give you short answers … You can tell that he’s up to here with all of it. And he knows he’s looking down the barrels at a long season.”
Would Giants fire Brian Daboll before end of Year 3 if failures continue? | NJ.com
When Brian Daboll started 7-2 in 2022 — as a rookie head coach, no less — it was unimaginable to think he might lose his job before the end of Year 3.
Yet here we are — and his 2022 NFL Coach of the Year award looks like a complete fluke.
Brian Daboll’s bungling of Graham Gano’s injury emblematic of mismanaged Giants during his tenure | The Athletic
But even when the Giants elected not to elevate McAtamney, they still could have added a safeguard after Gano’s disjointed warmup routine. Punter Jamie Gillan could have filled in on kickoffs to preserve Gano for field goals and extra points, thus eliminating any chance of chasing any returners for 40 yards.
Because it’s the Giants, those decisions came back to haunt them in the worst way imaginable.
NY Giants’ worst-case scenario comes true in loss to Washington | The Record
The New York Giants blamed bad luck, in part, for what transpired Sunday afternoon in yet another walk-off loss that left them with a far-too-familiar combination of emotions: angry, regretful and deflated.
Truth be told, given the franchise’s fortunes for more than a decade, they should have seen it coming.
Which of the NFL’s 0-2 Teams Need to Panic? | The Ringer
An 0-2 start isn’t exactly shocking for this Giants team, but there are a lot of jobs on the line in New York. If this winds up being the final season of Brian Daboll’s tenure as head coach, we may look back on the silliness of Week 2 as the real beginning of the end. Panic meter: 6/10

Browns injuries: Updates on David Njoku and more going into Week 3 | Dawgs By Nature
Cleveland HC Kevin Stefanski provided a few updates on injured players. WR David Bell will require surgery for his dislocated hip, RB Pierre Strong Jr. will be week to week with a hamstring injury, and DE Ogbo Okoronkwo cleared concussion protocol already
Somewhat surprisingly, Stefanski did not rule out TE David Njoku for Week 3 despite his reported high ankle sprain.

Despite reaching the red zone four times in Sunday’s game, Jacksonville scored just one touchdown and two field goals as Cleveland’s defense made explosive plays when backed up into their own territory.
NFL Week 2: Biggest questions, takeaways for every game | ESPN.com
Early prediction for next week: The Browns’ offense will break out against the Giants. The unit wasn’t great against Jacksonville but showed signs of life in the first half. The Browns could finally get one or both of their top tackles back next week in Jedrick Wills Jr. and Jack Conklin, which could help jump-start the unit.
