Your take on Tyreek’s chase of 2K!

Your take on Tyreek’s chase of 2K!
Sam Navarro-Imagn Images

Two seasons ago, Tyreek Hill announced that he was aiming for the 2,000-yard receiving milestone. This past season, he claimed that his previous goal was selfish and that he would instead focus more on being a team player. That team player image was probably already damaged after his last game of the season stunt, but he has now once again stated he is pursuing the 2,000-yard mark. With that in mind, I asked the following question:

Do you find Tyreek Hill’s goal of 2,000 yards receiving a selfish endeavor that only hurts the team as a whole, or one that a player of his level should be seeking and that is, in fact, beneficial for the team?

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

PhinsTifosi chose not to choose.

Both

VolFaninFla is happy so long as he isn’t out committing crimes.

Who cares as long as he’s not beating women like since college.

Dolfanjoe says the hell with 2,000…

Hoping for 3000 yards ! Tua and Hill unstoppable ! Another 600 yards receiving with Achane ! 700 with the rest of the receivers. Backs run for 2000 ! Lets go greedy all the way !

JPeay says it can go either way.

I think it’s natural and even healthy for players of Hills magnitude to want/try to break records. So in that sense, I am ok with it. But when it starts to effect the game plan and becomes a focus of the team and QB, that’s when it becomes selfish and detrimental.

MIAMI235 thinks he can achieve his goal under the right circumstances.

Lofty Goal, but achievable under right circumstances.

Hill wants the spotlight, we know that.

Since we don’t know what or if there is in any Team chemistry, from top to bottom of the franchise, these fanciful words seem typical.

USMCFinzFreak says it’s either or.

Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other.

SlayerNation1 wants to see him do it and then head on down the road.

Not selfish IMHO due to the context of the team/season.

If it were a team on the cusp of a Super Bowl appearance, then yes, that would be a distraction.

In this current reality, this team is on the cusp of a rebuild. Tyreek is in His final season in Miami, amongst many others, so it may well be the most interesting part of the season from a fan entertainment perspective.

I am here for it. Get the 2000 yards … and then … everyone depart so We can get grown up players and coaches for 2026.

SuperG! just sees it as Reek a Reakin’.

It’s a personal goal, not a team goal, so of course it’s selfish. As we all know, this is just Tyreek being Tyreek (or more appropriately “Reek being Reek”). I’m creating my own new verb called ’Reeking for every news story from Tyreek either tweeting, podcasting or just general troublemaking. Lately he’s been ’Reeking on a bi-monthly basis.

Dolphster believes it could work for both sides, maybe.

Sometimes a selfish motivation can still benefit the team.

tpl just wants the offense to work how it should work.

Tua is gonna go thru his progressions, and if hill is open fine, throw him the ball, otherwise continue thru and see who is open.

Here are our 10 random comments for this evening. I was a bit surprised that so many fans were okay with Hill chasing 2,000. I want the team to never look like they are trying to force it on him on every play, as they did a couple of seasons ago. As always, thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our question of the day post.
