Derek Carr with another strong performance, too.
Week 2 was kind to the Las Vegas Raiders as the Raiders not only won their matchup, but a few former Raiders played well and won their games as well. Before anyone gets too upset, none of the old players’ wins impacted Las Vegas in the standings. So, let’s dive into a few of those performances.
Derek Carr
- Stats: 11/16, 243 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 1 rushing TD
- Game result: 44-19 Saints win
For the second week in a row, Carr came out of the gates firing and completed a long touchdown pass to wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. Carr and Shaheed connected on a 70-yard bomb as the New Orleans Saints scored touchdowns on each of their five first-half possessions. Led by the quarterback, the team never looked back as this contest was never that close.
Carr has thrown for 443 yards and five scores while adding a touchdown on the ground too so far this season and the Saints are outscoring opponents 91-29.

NFC South Standings
- New Orleans 2-0
- Tampa Bay 2-0
- Atlanta 1-0 (pre MNF)
- Carolina 0-2
It’s early but the Saints are in a good spot within the division, tied with Tampa Bay ahead of New Orleans’ matchup against the Eagles next week. The Saints do have a crucial contest against the Falcons two Sundays from now, though.
Josh Jacobs
- Stats: 32 carries, 151 yards (4.7 ypc)
- Game result: 16-10 Packers win
With Jordan Love out, the Green Bay Packers needed someone on offense to step up and Jacobs was that guy on Sunday. He posted the third-most rushing yards in a single game in his career and the most since his 229-yard performance against the Seahawks two years ago. That went a long way toward Green Bay pulling off the upset win as Jacobs turned the clock back to his rushing champion campaign.
Granted, Jacobs did have a costly fumble on the goalline that kept him from scoring a touchdown on Sunday.

NFC North Standings
- Minnesota 2-0
- Chicago 1-1
- Detroit 1-1
- Green Bay 1-1
The Packers really needed this win to avoid going 0-2 and to keep pace in the surprisingly competitive NFC North. No one expected the Vikings to begin the year 2-0, adding some stakes to their matchup with the Packers in two weeks.
Clelin Ferrell
- Stats: 2 total tackles, 1 sack
- Game result: 21-18 Commanders win
For the second week in a row, Ferrell has managed to come up with a sack. He never had more than 4.5 sacks with the Raiders and didn’t have more than two during his final three years with the club. So, the former No. 4 overall pick appears to have found some pass-rush moves.

NFC East Standings
- Philadelphia 1-0 (pre MNF)
- Washington 1-1
- Dallas 1-1
- New York 0-2
This game was viewed as a battle for last place but with the Saints taking down the Cowboys, the Commanders will at least be in second in the NFC East after two weeks. Winning a big matchup next week against the 0-2 Bengals could make them a surprise team to look out for.
