The Linc – Should the Eagles trade for Trey Hendrickson?

Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 6/8/25.

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Trey Hendrickson to Eagles? Tyreek Hill to Patriots? Seven trades we’d like to see during NFL offseason – NFL.com
Trey Hendrickson to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles dominated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl with a relentless pass rush, but Philadelphia has questions on that front heading into the 2025 campaign, given the loss of Josh Sweat, Nolan Smith’s injury and the inherent need for young guys like Moro Ojomo (2023 seventh-round pick) and Jalyx Hunt (2024 third-rounder) to level up. General manager Howie Roseman hit big on the trade for wide receiver A.J. Brown in 2022. Trading for Hendrickson, who’s in a contract standoff with the Bengals, could provide a similar effect for the defense. Plus, the Eagles just cleared more cap space by dealing Huff. This would be a case of the rich getting richer — and a move I wouldn’t put past Philly.

Vic Fangio feels good about Eagles’ pass rush despite offseason departures – PFT
Fangio mentioned Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari as players he thinks he can count on to be a big part of the pass rush this season. “I feel good about Nolan,” Fangio said. “I think we’ll feel good about Jalyx now that he’s gonna get a lot of reps and develop. He played good for us down the stretch last year, and played a lot, as you saw, so I feel good about those two guys, and I think they’ll continue to improve. We’ve got Uche, we’ve got Azeez, we’ve got three other guys there. I think we’ll be fine.”

Eagles Film Review: Cameron Williams has the tools to become a starter – BGN
Clearly, I valued him incorrectly. I ended up ranking significantly higher than where he was drafted. But I was not alone! The number one offensive line scout online, Brandon Thorn, had Myles Hinton as a 3rd-round pick, too. So, I’m not crazy! As I mentioned earlier, I believe Cameron Williams is a physically imposing, long offensive tackle whose flashes of dominant power and ability to move in space make his upside easy to discern. He has several technical issues, as mentioned above (hand placement, pad level, balance issues, and penalties), but the physical tools are all in place. I don’t think he will be ready to play at all this year, but I wouldn’t risk putting him on the practice squad either. He could be a good candidate to have a ‘season-ending hamstring injury’ towards the end of training camp. I hope he gets the chance to attend Stoutland University for at least 2 seasons.

Eagles spring injury report – PhillyVoice
LB Nakobe Dean (knee): Dean tore his patellar tendon in the Eagles’ Wild Card Round win over the Green Bay Packers. As our Evan Macy detailed back in January, patellar tendon tears are more serious than ACL or Achilles tears. Last Tuesday, Vic Fangio remarked that Dean would not be returning to the field “anytime soon.” Dean will almost certainly begin training camp on the PUP list, and remain there to begin the regular season. With Dean and Jihaad Campbell both out, Jeremiah Trotter got first-team reps alongside Zack Baun in OTAs.

Daily Slop – 8 Jun 25 – Giants fans have Week 1 home game vs Commanders circled on the calendar – Hogs Haven
“We’re in the season of hope, and Week 1 should be our first chance to see Russell Wilson, Abdul Carter, Darius Alexander, and Cam Skattebo on the field. The Giants will get to test themselves against a division rival that played in the NFC Champhionship, and prove that they’re better than they’re given credit. And the chance to, perhaps, start Jayden Daniels sophomore season on a sour note is compelling as well. It’s still early yet and a lot can change over the coming months. But FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Giants as 6.5-point underdogs on the road against Washington. That, however, also illustrates just how rapidly life can change in the NFL.”

Dak Prescott remains longest-tenured starting QB in the NFL with their respective team – Blogging The Boys
It is rather wild to think that Prescott has been the Cowboys starting quarterback longer than any other quarterback has for their current team across the league, but that speaks to the turnover rate that we tend to see. Players who come close to him as far as still being with their teams are Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs (2017), Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills (2018) and Lamar Jackson with the Baltimore Ravens (2018). Matthew Stafford represents a player with far more NFL experience than Dak, but he joined the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 which was five years after the Cowboys drafted Prescott. Similarly, Jared Goff technically has two days on Dak in terms of NFL experience as he was the number one overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but he was a part of that Stafford trade and has been with the Detroit Lions for the last four years. Time can be a funny thing in the NFL, but no starting quarterback has spent more of it with their current team than Dak Prescott has with the Dallas Cowboys.

Are the Giants really all-in on Russell Wilson as their 2025 quarterback? – Big Blue View
Jaxson Dart’s time is coming. There will be nothing Wilson can do to stop it. He can delay it by playing good football and winning games, but he can’t prevent it from happening. Kurt Warner couldn’t prevent the coming of Eli Manning despite a winning record that had the Giants on the periphery of playoff contention. Manning couldn’t prevent Daniel Jones from taking his job despite two Super Bowl titles and the best career a Giants’ quarterback has ever had. Wilson won’t be able to hold Dart off forever, either. The Giants will continue to give Wilson his respect, his flowers, if you will. Until, of course, it’s time to move on to the younger, prettier, more exciting model in Dart. Then, the bouquets will be sent in Dart’s direction and Wilson will fade away.

Friday discussion: Will it work for Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers? – SB Nation
Let’s be honest dear readers. You have had a lot of time to think about this one. The long-anticipated decision from Aaron Rodgers has arrived, and the veteran quarterback is heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers. News broke on Thursday afternoon that Rodgers would put pen to paper on a contract with the Steelers, and travel to Pittsburgh in time for the team’s minicamp next week. But will it work? We have our thoughts, but we want to hear yours too.
