Random Ramsdom: Do Steelers have interest in Tutu Atwell?

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 6/7/25

Would the Pittsburgh Steelers have any interest in talking to the Los Angeles Rams about trading for Tutu Atwell? Would Rams have any interest in the move?

This is total speculation on my part, but it does seem like the ‘Lers are trying to make a move for a pass catcher, whether it’s through free agency or otherwise, so Atwell seems like a possibility, right? Maybe that’s just me.

I like Atwell, he’s done some nice things for L.A. but is he going to be on the team past this season? How much playtime will he have? Could L.A. benefit but getting future pick(s) for Atwell now?

Food for thought.

Steelers made call to Falcons, want to trade for Kyle Pitts (behindthesteelcurtain)

“The Pittsburgh Steelers finally know that Aaron Rodgers will be their quarterback in 2025, but they still have their sights set on getting him more weapons offensively.

Pittsburgh has been in the rumor mill for the last week regarding a potential trade for Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith, and reportedly reached out to the New Orleans Saints about wide receiver Chris Olave. Sticking in the NFC South, the Steelers have reached out to another team about a potential trade fro a star pass-catcher.

Per Ian Rapoport, the Steelers made a phone call to the Atlanta Falcons to discuss a potential trade for tight end Kyle Pitts.”

New WR trade target emerges for Steelers (sports.yahoo.com)

“The Pittsburgh Steelers have made several moves when it comes to pass-catchers this offseason, and have been rumored to potentially make several more. They traded for DK Metcalf in March and then subsequently traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. Over the last week, the Steelers have been rumored to potentially trade for Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith, and also hosted free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis for a visit, though he left without signing a contract.

And while the Steelers haven’t found that other playmaker to complement Metcalf, a new potential trade target has emerged. Washington Commanders star wide receiver Terry McLaurin wants a new contract. According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, McLaurin left voluntary workouts, and it is unknown whether or not he will show up to mandatory minicamp.”

Rams’ Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams named best new offensive duo in NFL (ramwire)

“Both Stafford and Adams are a bit long in the tooth, but these two have plenty left in the tank,” Sullivan wrote. “Stafford enjoyed a stellar 2024 campaign with his passer rating (93.7) clocking in as the second-best of his entire tenure with the Rams. He now links up with Davante Adams, who signed a two-year, $44 million deal with L.A. in free agency after he was released by the New York Jets. Even splitting time between two different organizations, Adams was still able to top 1,000 yards receiving last year, and went nuclear down the stretch as one of the lone bright spots of New York’s offense. In his final five games of the regular season, Adams caught 36 balls for 510 yards and five touchdowns. That’s a 122-1,734-17 pace over a full 17-game season. With Stafford, Adams clearly upgraded at quarterback, and with Puka Nacua lining up opposite of him within a Sean McVay-led offense, this pairing should take the league by storm in 2025.”

3 revelations from Rams OTAs that fans will almost certainly love (ramblinfan)

“The Rams allowed inside linebackers Christian Rozeboom and Jake Hummel to seek their fortunes and opportunities elsewhere. Unfortunately, the team could not resist the temptation to re-sign last year’s starting inside linebacker, Troy Reeder. After the team traded away veteran inside linebacker Ernest Jones IV, the team promoted both ILBs Troy Reeder and Christian Rozeboom to starting roles.

The defense seemed to struggle until Reeder fell to injury, forcing the team to start undrafted linebacker Omar Speights. But if you thought that Speights was starting in 2025, you may need to revise those projections. You see, the team signed veteran inside linebacker Nate Landman, a run-stuffing linebacker who exhibits nearly all of the qualities of Omar Speights, only with plenty of NFL experience.”
