The two sides could be closer than we think.
Just last week, Trey Hendrickson shared his frustration with the Cincinnati Bengals’ front office and head coach Zac Taylor.
Now, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reports that the Bengals offered the NFL sack leader $28 million per year, which would be significantly more than his current deal.
Here’s what Florio wrote:
“Hendrickson is due to make $16 million this year. The Bengals, we’ve heard, have offered roughly $28 million per year. Whatever the amount (and, as importantly, the structure), he wants more.”
Is Hendrickson really being greedy or reasonable? The man has 35 sacks over the last two years and has shown no signs of slowing down. But he is coming up on 31 years old and did kinda blunder the situation in 2023 by getting a one-year extension.
We talked about Hendrickson’s frustration with the way the team has handled his contract in the video below.
