Yes, again
Last season, the Minnesota Vikings played their lone Thursday night contest at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and it went. . .poorly. So, the National Football League has apparently decided they’d like to see them do it again.
Several sources on social media are reporting that the Vikings will once again be heading to the West Coast on a Thursday night, this time to take on the Los Angeles Chargers. The matchup is set for Week 8, according to those reports.
Barring an injury, this matchup will see Chargers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh and his squad in a matchup against J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy and Harbaugh teamed up to bring a college football National Championship to the University of Michigan before Harbaugh departed for the Chargers job and McCarthy declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Both of these teams have playoff aspirations, obviously, as they both made their way to the postseason tournament last year. I think we can all agree, however, that we just hope things go better for the Vikings’ mid-week contest this year than they did last season.
I want to emphasize that while a few different sources are reporting this, it is not official yet. We’re just bringing you any potential news and rumors that we see about the schedule throughout the course of the day today, leading up to the official schedule release at 7:00 PM Central time on Wednesday night.
