Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 5/1/25
Everyone is different and because everyone is different, it’s mock o’clock somewhere, and so if you think it’s too early to do a mock draft, I can assure there are others out there doing them. Bless their hearts. Me, I have no idea who the Rams should take next year, but if you have any thoughts let us know! It’s all good and I don’t judge! I just like the interaction.
You can check out Blaine Grisak writing about some potential 2026 prospects here!
Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times, comment on whatever you want and have a great Thursday!
Who Do Rams Take in SI’s Early 2026 Mock? (si.com)
“Bryan Fischer of Sports Illustrated has the Rams taking a defensive player and an offensive player with their two first-round picks in his 2026 NFL mock draft.
11. Los Angeles Rams (from Atlanta Falcons)
Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee Volunteers
“The Oregon State Beavers transfer didn’t look out of place as one of the best corners in the SEC (four interceptions), and a key member of a College Football Playoff team. He should test off the charts at the combine and the fact that he’ll be tested more in 2025 after the departure of some of the Vols pass rushers could further enhance his stock as the potential CB1 in the draft.”
24. Los Angeles Rams
“The Rams have a pair of first-round picks and could trade up to find Matthew Stafford’s successor. The hunch remains they’ll try to keep this window open right away. In Fano, they could land a plug-and-play right tackle replacement for Rob Havenstein who would be a nice fit for Sean McVay’s scheme.”

7 potential 1st-round QB prospects for the Rams to know in the 2026 NFL Draft (ramswire)
“There was some belief that the Los Angeles Rams might take a quarterback early in this year’s draft, potentially even in Round 1. Not only did they pass on that option at No. 26, but they didn’t take a quarterback at all.
What they did do, however, is acquire a first-round pick in 2026 by trading down with the Atlanta Falcons. With two first-rounders next year, the Rams are in position to potentially find Matthew Stafford’s successor. The Falcons could be bad enough that the Rams are drafting in the top 10, or they could package their two picks and trade up the board for a QB.
So who are the quarterbacks to know? Here are seven names to monitor throughout the 2025 season. They could all garner first-round consideration next year, though it remains to be seen how many of them will declare for the draft.”

2026 NFL Mock Draft: Way-too-early look at next year’s class, including Arch Manning (pff.com)
“Although the 2025 NFL Draft just wrapped up, it’s never too early to look ahead to next year.
Here’s our way-too-early look at the 2026 NFL Draft, with a heavy emphasis on “way too early,” as the class is very up in the air at this stage. The draft order is based on Super Bowl 60 odds.
1. New York Giants: T Kadyn Proctor, Alabama
The Giants hope to have found their franchise quarterback in 2025 first-round pick Jaxson Dart, and they should look to build up the infrastructure around him. Proctor still needs some development to become worthy of a No. 1 overall selection, but there’s no denying his freakish movement ability at 6-foot-7 and 360 pounds.
Across three career games against Georgia and South Carolina, two elite defensive lines, the Iowa native boasts a 90.4 PFF pass-blocking grade with only one pressure allowed on 96 pass-blocking snaps.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: Did Sean McVay “lock into” one particular player in the 2025 draft? (By RamsRoll on Apr 29, 2025)
“Conventional wisdom in the NFL is GMs & coaches should not fall in love with a particular player in the draft & lock in on that player & draft that player at the expense of passing up greater/better talent in the draft. Did Sean McVay violate that “rule” in the 2025 draft & convince GM Snead to take TE Ferguson with the Rams’ first pick in the 2025 draft? I believe McVay did fall in love with Ferguson & lock in on taking him with the Rams’ first pick in the draft. Was that a mistake? I’m not going to conclude that. It would be foolish for me to do that, because I have no idea whether Ferguson will develop into the player that McVay envisions. I’m merely stating that I think, for whatever reason, McVay fell in love with Ferguson & wanted him badly.
Did the Rams need to upgrade the TE position in the draft? Doubtless IMO. Did the rams need to draft a TE in 2025 to prepare for the future absent Higbee? Doubtless IMO. Did the Rams need to draft Ferguson at 46 to accomplish those goals? Maybe so, maybe not. Hard to say when Ferguson would have been drafted had the Rams picked a different position at 46. IMO McVay fell in love with Ferguson & he was the #1 player on his board. Would the Rams have been better served by taking a different position at 46 and then drafting a TE later in the draft? That’s a really tough call. Perhaps Arroyo, Fannin & Ferguson would all have been picked between 46 & 90 had the Rams taken a different position at 46. Would have McVay been happy with any TE other than Ferguson? I don’t think so.
What are your thoughts and opinions TST members? Do you think McVay & Co did what I am suggesting in this FanPost or do you think I am full of you know what? If you think I might be correct, do you think what McSnead was a “mistake” or do you think it is too soon to say?
Thanks so much for reading my FanPost. As always Lets Go Rams”
Which QB would you draft in next year’s draft? (By RamsRoll on Apr 29, 2025)
“Everyone of course knows that the rams traded #26 in this year’s draft to ATL and as part of that trade the Rams were given ATL’s 1st rd pick in next years draft. The Rams may or may not package those 2 first rd picks with perhaps even more picks to move up & take one of the top QBs in next year’s draft. Next year’s class of QBs is projected to be deep & talented. There is a group of 6 QBs currently rated high in the draft next year. The purpose of this FanPost is to discuss who each of thinks is the best option as a future franchise QB for the Rams should they chose to draft one next year in the 1st round. Here are the 6 QBs with links for You Tube video highlights of each QB.”
