Only 361 days until the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, friends!
The 2025 NFL Draft wrapped up outside Lambeau Field on Saturday afternoon with Shedeur Sanders finally getting selected, a mere 140ish picks after his father boasted he would be. The Philadelphia Eagles ended up drafting 10 players on the weekend after a series of moves by maestro Howie Roseman and now have their sights set on the 2026 NFL Draft and potential players to pick in a year’s time.
Is it too early for us, the laypeople, to start thinking about next year’s draft? Oh God yes, but not thinking about things hasn’t stopped me from having opinions before, so let’s take some wild stabs in the dark about who the Birds might be welcoming to the NovaCare Complex next April!
While we won’t know exactly what positions they’ll be trying to fill after next season, nor if all of these players will even enter the damn draft, here are five reasonable (citation needed) guesses at what the Eagles might be looking for and when they might be drafted.
Potential Positional Needs
(Player, school, projected draft round, measurements, career stats)
Tight End
- Oscar Delp, Georgia, 2nd round, 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, (41 games played, 50 receptions, 593 yards, 8 TDs)
- Max Klare, Ohio State, 4th round, 6-foot-4, 236, (19 games played, 73 receptions, 881 yards, 4 TDs)
There has been uncertainty around Dallas Goedert even being on the roster this year, so since he’ll be eligible to have his contract voided in Feb. 2026 and he’ll be on the wrong side of 30…there is a high probability that Philadelphia will be searching for a young tight end. Grant Calcaterra will be an unrestricted free agent and newly signed Kyren Granson will be in the same “void in Feb. 2026” situation as Goedert.
Nose Tackle/IDL
- Christen Miller, Georgia, 1st round, 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, (29 games played, 41 tackles, 21 solo, 7.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 1 pass defended)
- Zxavian Harris, Ole Miss, 2nd round, 6-foot-7, 320 pounds, (37 games played, 65 tackles, 32 solo, 8.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble)

The Eagles drafted Ty Robinson (Nebraska, 6-foot-6, 310 pounds) in the fourth round this year and he’ll learn some of the ropes behind Jordan Davis, who will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. Robinson can also play end and rush the passer from there. Byron Young is also still (???) on the roster after being placed on IR last year in October. Anyways…I don’t think it would be the worst idea in the world to draft another Large Dude for the middle of the defense.
Offensive Line
- Jaeden Roberts (IOL), Alabama, 3rd round, 6-foot-5, 325 pounds, (34 games played/21 starts)
- Riley Mahlman (OT), Wisconsin, 5th round, 6-foot-8, 320 pounds, (45 games played/31 starts)
Newly signed LG Kenyon Green is on his rookie deal still and would be able to have his fifth-year option picked up by the Eagles if they want. Three of their last five picks this year were along the o-line (two tackles; one IOL) and there are definitely some intriguing developmental talent, but you can never have too many hog-mollies on offense.
Wide Receiver
- Evan Stewart, Oregon, 1st round, 6-foot-0, 175 pounds, (31 games played, 139 catches, 1,776 yards, 11 TDs)
- J. Michael Sturdivant, Florida, 3rd round, 6-foot-3, 216 pounds, (40 games played, 123 catches, 1,667 yards, 13 TDs)

There doesn’t seem to be any scenario where Jahan Dotson is back with the Eagles in 2026. If he has an average or below season, then the Eagles won’t want him back, and if he has an above average or better season, he’ll want to test the market and the Eagles won’t be able to afford him. Terrace Marshall, Jr. isn’t a part of Philly’s plans either. A young receiver to learn from A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith would be great imo!
Safety
- Ja’Bril Rawls, Florida State, 4th round, 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, (14 games, 18 tackles, 14 solo, 1 pass defended)
- Rod Moore, Michigan, 5th round, 6-foot-0, 198 pounds (37 games, 141 tackles, 90 solo, 3 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, 6 interceptions, 7 passes defended; missed all of last season with torn ACL)
Round 2 pick Andrew Mukuba will obviously have a chance to carve out a role this year as a rookie, but with Reed Blankenship entering free agency after the season Philadelphia may want to invest in another young talent for the back end of the secondary. This becomes more of a pressing issue if Sydney Brown can’t stay healthy.
With all of the compensatory picks added in, the Eagles will have a dozen selections in the 2026 draft but you can safely bet your life on that NOT being the final number due to Roseman’s love of draft weekend wheeling and dealing. Here are the picks as they currently stand.
