The people have spoken
It’s time to reveal the results of this week’s SB Nation Reacts poll about our Minnesota Vikings, so let’s get to it without any further ado.
We had two questions for you this week, with the first one being the standard question about whether or not our fans feel the team is moving in the right direction. With the purple defeating the New York Giants on Sunday, you can already guess which direction the arrow is pointing in.
Of those who responded to our poll, a full 92% believe that the team is, in fact, moving in the right direction. Everything seemed to fall into place quite nicely in Week 1 for our favorite football team, though they’ll admittedly face a much greater challenge when they return to U.S. Bank Stadium this week to face off with the San Francisco 49ers in their home opener, particularly given that they’re a pretty significant underdog.
Our other question was inspired by the Vikings’ bombardment of Daniel Jones in Sunday’s win, wondering who you all think will lead the team in quarterback sacks this season. The race was actually pretty close, but we can declare a winner in this one as well.
Rookie Dallas Turner is the pick for our fans, garnering 40% of the vote in this week’s poll. He collected his first NFL sack on Sunday and it looks like our readers feel there will be plenty more where that came from. Andrew Van Ginkel, who came in second in the poll, also had a sack on Sunday to go along with his outstanding pick-six. Third place went to Jonathan Greenard, who did not get any sacks against the Giants but did lead the team in quarterback pressures, so hopefully it’s just a matter of time before he starts getting home. Somehow, 6% of our readers felt that someone outside of those three will be the team’s sack leader in 2024. I’d be curious to know who those folks are leaning towards.
Those are our SB Nation Reacts results for this week, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll be back with another poll for you to sound off on next week.
