Should the Giants go get their quarterback?

The New York Giants are currently sitting as perhaps the wildcard in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Nobody seems sure as to what the Giants are going to do at any point in the draft. They will certainly have one of the three players commonly assessed as a “blue chip” talent available to them at 3rd overall. On the flip side, they’re in pretty desperate need of a Quarterback Of The Future, with only Jameis Winston under contract for 2026 and nobody for 2027 and beyond.

Right now, the expectation is that the Giants will draft either Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter at 3rd overall then address the quarterback position with a later pick. From there, however, expectations diverge pretty broadly. There’s a belief by some that the Giants will be aggressive in moving up from the 34th overall pick to “get their guy”.

After all, they were reportedly aggressive in attempting to trade up for Drake Maye, and at least speculated to have had discussions about moving up for Cam Ward.

Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have had to sit by while multiple quarterbacks they (reportedly) wanted slipped just out of their reach. If there are any others in whom they’re interested, they might take any opportunity to make sure they don’t miss out again.

On the other hand, they have studied each of the top remaining quarterbacks extensively and could be prepared for any of them to slip to 34th overall. They wouldn’t have the (potentially valuable) 5th year option, but they also wouldn’t have to invest additional picks.

So, with less than two days before the draft, we put it to the Big Blue View community. What do you think? Should the Giants trade up from 34th overall to go get their guy and secure the 5th year option? Or save the picks and stand pat?
