How about this? Posts on Toney and Eli Apple in the same day
Rumors started swirling this week that former New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney was walking away from football to pursue a music career. But the former first-round pick didn’t waste much time setting the record straight.
Toney responded Friday with a blunt message on his Instagram story:
“Goofies on the net hollerin I’m retiring. Just want klout.”
The speedy wideout, who was drafted by the Giants in 2021, has had a rollercoaster of an NFL career so far. After his stint in New York, Toney went on to win a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs — though injuries and inconsistency have kept him from truly finding his stride.
Toney has recorded 82 catches for 760 yards and three touchdowns. He most recently spent part of last season with the Cleveland Browns before getting cut in December.
With free agency still wide open, Toney remains unsigned — but clearly not retired. But with injuries, inconsistency, and off-field distractions piling up, it’s fair to wonder how many more chances Toney will get.
