Jalen Hurts named to TIME magazines Top 100 influential people of 2025 list

The Eagles QB continues to rack up the accolades after winning Super Bowl LIX.

The accolades for Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts continue to grow. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was recently named to TIME magazines top 100 influential people of 2025 list.

Hurts doesn’t draw attention to all the reasons he deserves to be on this list, but from his incredible work ethic to his commitment to the Philadelphia community, the QB has earned respect from those near and far.

Over the years, he has surrounded himself with winners of all kinds — from golfing with Barack Obama, to having dinner with Michael Jordan, and partying with LeBron James, Hurts has made a habit of trying to learn from the greatness of others and transform all that information into a recipe that works for him.

Derek Jeter wrote the tribute for Hurts in TIME magazine, and reflected on the QB’s evolution over the years and his ability to overcome adversity going back to his college days.

“I admire how great athletes deal with both success and failure. What Jalen Hurts went through in being benched during the 2018 National Championship game would break a lot of people down. But not Jalen; he focused on what he could control and found a new path to success. In the NFL, Jalen didn’t let a Super Bowl defeat in 2023 shake his confidence. He used that loss as motivation and kept a picture of himself walking off the field after losing as his phone lock screen.

This past February, Jalen found himself on the Super Bowl stage again. This time he led Philadelphia to a convincing victory in its rematch with Kansas City. We connected shortly after, and the only thing he asked about was insight on going back and winning again. Sometimes people win, then exhale. Jalen is not exhaling. He’s embracing the next challenge. Win or lose, Jalen’s resilience and determination offer all of us something to admire.”

It’s encouraging, albeit not at all surprising, to learn that Hurts immediately shifted his focus from winning a Super Bowl to running it back. He always talks about embracing the journey and never settling on any one destination, and that hunger for more is just as strong as ever.
