Some good news on this Thursday afternoon!
The Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs hit the practice field again on a sunny Thursday afternoon in preparation for their Week 2 matchup in Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs (1-0) are coming off a victory over the Ravens, and the Bengals (0-1) are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Patriots at home.
The Bengals are looking to get back on track and prove they belong in the league’s elite. After Joe Burrow and company were outplayed by a Jacoby Brissett-led Patriots offense, the Bengals will be looking to hit the ground running early against the Chiefs.
Unfortunately, for the second straight day, wide receiver Tee Higgins did not participate in practice as he’s been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury. However, tight end Tanner Hudson, who missed Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury, returned on Thursday, albeit on a limited basis. Rookie right tackle Amarius Mims was limited, like yesterday, as well.
Burrow is still on the injury report with his wrist injury, but, like yesterday, he practiced in full. Added to the injury report on Thursday, though, was halfback Zack Moss. He was listed with a neck injury, but he practiced in full.
Defensively, Lou Anarumo’s squad was without Kris Jenkins because he’s still recovering from thumb surgery. There is good news, though. Linebacker Logan Wilson returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday. He was limited, however. BJ Hill, who was limited on Wednesday, practiced in full on Thursday.
As for the Chiefs, it’s the same as Wednesday. Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, linebacker Nick Bolton, defensive end Michael Danna, safety Sazeeh Johnson, nose tackle Derrick Nnadi and defensive tackle Mike Pennel.
All of the Chiefs on the injury report practiced in full, with the exception of Brown, who missed practice again with a shoulder injury.
