Will the Rams take Alabama QB Jalen Milroe in the first round?
Quarterbacks are always the stars of NFL Draft season, whether they will go early or not, so should we believe that the Los Angeles Rams might actually take Alabama’s Jalen Milroe in the first round? Or is it just overhyping a quarterback in the rumor mill in order to generate more interest in the source?
The Rams are scheduled to meet with Milroe, but The Ringer’s Todd McShay highlighted L.A.’s interest on his podcast this week, saying that “There’s a lot of buzz right now about Sean McVay and Jalen Milroe. And McVay’s team with Les Snead pick at 26, so you gotta get up ahead (of them).”
In his mock draft, McShay has the Giants trading up to 24 to draft Milroe because he believes that the Rams might draft him if they don’t.
McShay then has the Rams drafting Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron, a player he is very high on.
Is Milroe going to be a first round pick? So far, the draft has mostly focused on just two first round quarterbacks — Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders — but McShay’s draft has Jaxson Dart going to the Jets at 7, the Browns trading up for Sanders at 15, then Milroe going at 24.
Milroe would be one of the least proven passers in first round history, but he rushed for over 700 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2024. Would McVay really go from Matthew Stafford’s arms to Milroe’s legs under center? According to the buzz, maybe.
But do you believe in buzz?
