The Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft—our annual mock draft created by commenters on this site—has arrived at Pick 21. The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the clock, and as of this publishing, we don’t even know who their quarterback will be for 2025. As it stands, Mason Rudolph stands atop the depth chart, while the Steelers play “will they? won’t they?” with Aaron Rodgers.
Could the Steelers go quarterback this late in the first round? Will they put off finding their quarterback of the future for yet another season?

Derrick Harmon, defensive tackle out of Oregon.

With the 21st pick in the Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select Derrick Harmon, defensive lineman, Oregon.
Everywhere I looked I read how much Pittsburgh needs help along the defensive line. Long-time leader of the defense Cameron Heyward turns 36 in May while Keeanu Benton and Isaiahh Loudermilk aren’t very promising as the other two starters. The last time they invested a first-round pick on the defensive line was Heyward in 2011. That changes this year with one of my favorites in Derrick Harmon.
After a season in which Harmon was one of the best defensive tackles in all of college football earning a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 83.9 and a 17.6% pass rush win rate, he continued his dominance at the Senior Bowl winning Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
The Steelers met with Harmon at the Combine where he is rumored to have been one of the best interviews and showed off his quick burst with a 1.74 10-yard split at 313 pounds, that led him to 55 pressures, the most for a defensive tackle in the FBS. He also brings versatility being able to play the zero through five technique.
Admittedly I would love for Harmon to land in Detroit but in this scenario Pittsburgh finds the heir apparent to Heyward and adds a much needed upgrade to the defensive line.
