Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 9/12/24
A writer at Bleacher Report recently suggested that the Los Angeles Rams could make a move for Robert Woods. I don’t see that happening. I think LA has plenty of depth at receiver, but anything can happen. Would the Houston Texans be willing to part ways with Woods? I suppose maybe because the Texans also seem to have plenty of options at the position. Should the Rams make a move for Woods or any other receiver?

Rams Could Bring Back Former WR After Puka Nacua Lands on IR (si.com)
“The loss of Nacua is not ideal as he could miss more than four games in the season; however, this could allow the team to bring back a former beloved Ram, wide receiver Robert Woods.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report released his 2024 NFL Trade Block big board and listed Woods as a possible target for the Rams.
“A reunion with the Rams, who employed Woods from 2017 to 2021, would be sensible. Los Angeles may be without star receiver Puka Nacua for some time,” wrote Knox.”

2024 NFL Trade Block Big Board Entering Week 2 (bleacherreport)
“Houston Texans wideout Robert Woods remains on our list, largely because the 32-year-old is a potentially expendable trade chip.
While Woods didn’t have a headlining role in Houston’s offense last season—he appeared in 14 games with 11 starts but caught only 40 passes for 426 yards and a touchdown—he may see the field even less this year.
The Texans are poised to lean heavily on Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, while Woods serves as depth. He played a mere 12 offensive snaps during Houston’s Week 1 win over the Indianapolis Colts.”

Injury-plagued Rams put WR Puka Nacua, G Steve Avila, OT Joe Noteboom on injured reserve (washingtonpost)
“Each of those three guys have unique injuries that, as of right now, it could keep them out longer than that,” McVay said. “And so we’ll see. … Let’s not place expectations on when they’re going to come back, because these guys are so conscientious. Let’s allow them to be ready to go whenever their body says, and when the doctors do say. I know they’re going to accelerate it and be ready as quickly as possible.”
