RJ Ochoa: In case anyone forgot or does not know… I cover the Dallas Cowboys around here. With that context applied, it brings me no pleasure to tell you all that I think it is the lamest thing in the world that people want to outlaw the tush push. Reports continue to swirl that this could happen and that owners at their fancy meetings are starting to pick up steam as a group for it… that is incredibly embarrassing. The Philadelphia Eagles are really good at this play. That is the end of the story. Other teams can try it (some have!). Nothing is stopping anyone else from doing the work involved to get as good at it as Philadelphia is. Wanting to outlaw the play because the Eagles are significantly better than anyone else is humiliating for anyone on that side of the argument and even as a Cowboys fan I will stand up and defend the Eagles for doing nothing wrong. I hate this timeline.
Jason Kelce is sick of being misinterpreted on the Tush Push – Inquirer
But Kelce said Wednesday on New Heights that those comments were misinterpreted, and doubled down on social media on Friday, offering to show up and testify on behalf of the play at the May meetings. “I think the good gentleman from Buffalo appears to have misunderstood my meaning of the word grueling, I have never called the play dangerous,” Kelce wrote on X. “If the NFL wishes to summon me for legitimate thoughts on the Tush Push under oath, I’d be glad to give my testimony.”
Dan Campbell on tush push: Eagles found something, it’s up to everybody else to stop it – PFT
Lions coach Dan Campbell says the Eagles’ tush push needs to be stopped by opposing defenses, not a change to the NFL rulebook. Campbell was asked at the league meeting if the tush push should remain legal, and he made clear that he doesn’t think it’s fair to pass a rule designed to stop one team from a successful play it has devised. “I am of the school that they found something and it’s up to everybody else to stop it. So I’m a hard yes,” Campbell said.

Round 1, Pick 32 (for the Super Bowl Winner): Derrick Harmon, Defensive Lineman, Oregon. The Eagles get a slam dunk pick at the end of the first round here. With Milton Williams well paid in New England, the Eagles grab a disruptive defensive lineman to take his place. Harmon has the size and athleticism to play all three-downs, giving the Eagles an excellent interior rotation with him, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Moro Ojomo.

Tight end. We’re projecting here that Dallas Goedert will not be on the 2025 roster, likely to be traded or cut sometime after June 1, when the financial impact of his departure will be more palatable. Grant Calcaterra started 14 games for the Eagles last season — 13 in the regular season, one in the playoffs. He is very clearly the favorite to be the Eagles’ TE1 in 2025. The Eagles also signed veterans Harrison Bryant and Kylen Granson, who will compete for roles. The 2025 draft is loaded with tight end talent, both at the top of the draft and will players more likely to be taken on Days 2 and 3. Still, even if the Eagles select a tight end with an early pick, Calcaterra has shown enough — at least as a receiver — to fend off a rookie in the short term. Likely starter: Grant Calcaterra, at, like, 90%. (Let’s put percentages next to each favorite, cool? Cool.)

OT – Jeff Stoutland likes players who stand out in some way. Grant, Mbow and Conerly are all gifted athletes. They could play OG or OT and have fantastic movement skills. Travis and Melton are each at least 6-6 and 336. Those are big maulers. OG – Jackson has good versatility and size. He started at LG and LT. He would need to be an early pick. Fairchild is a Day 3 player. He’s got good size, but isn’t special physically. I think Stoutland likes him for a combination of his size/ability and his personality.

The Eagles in 2024 had a bunch of young players in prominent roles throughout the season. That won’t change in 2025. With a top-heavy roster and after losing several veteran players this offseason, there will be even more opportunity for younger players to see the field as the Eagles attempt to defend their Super Bowl championship. “With some of the new faces that will be starting on our team next year, I’m excited about that,” head coach Nick Sirianni said at the NFL’s annual meetings this week. “When you’re in a program that has been successful what you notice about the guys who have been waiting for their opportunity to play and the new faces that are coming in, getting an opportunity to play on the Philadelphia Eagles, there’s just this hunger. I’m excited for the new faces that are going to be able to contribute and get their opportunity to do some things with the loss of some of these guys. It’s really a great challenge and a great opportunity for a lot of these guys to go out there. I know I’ll see hunger and desire and just this, ‘Hey, now it’s my turn to go out there and perform.’”

After spending 2024 out of the league, Julio announced his retirement on Friday. The tributes poured in from fans and NFLers alike, with Jones saying he chose April 4th (404) as the day for his announcement because of his love for Atlanta. Washington Commanders mock draft with trade back – Hogs Haven
Pick 33 (RD2 – From Cleveland): Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame. Injury concerns drop Morrison out of round one, and Adam Peters pounces. At a tad over 6’ and a sturdy 195 pounds, Morrison can be brought along slowly until he’s ready to take the field. Like Jer’Zhan Newton in 2024, the value here is just too good to pass up with an early pick in round two. He is a scheme-diverse outside corner who can play man or zone effectively. Morrison would pair nicely with Lattimore on the outside and gives Washington a formidable cornerback room with solid depth to boot.

The Dallas Cowboys will have all eyes on them once the 12th pick comes about in the NFL draft later this month. Dallas has plenty of roster holes, and they need instant impact guys that can contribute immediately since they rely so heavily on building their roster through the draft. There have been a ton of players linked to the Cowboys at various positions, particularly at wide receiver. Matthew Golden out of Texas and Luther Burden out of Missouri have been popular choices. So has Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, and on Thursday when draft analyst Todd McShay talked about his top 150 big board heading into the draft, he mentioned there’s some buzz around Dallas taking McMillan in the first round. “I’m hearing a lot of noise about Tet going 12 to Dallas.”

The New York Giants are one of the four teams Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart has spent the “most time” with leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The others, per Rapoport, are the Cleveland Browns (who have picks 2 and 33), the New Orleans Saints (who have pick No. 9) and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have pick No. 21. The Giants, of course, have picks 3 and 34 in the first two rounds. Dart visited the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, with Rapoport saying that will be his last visit. That, of course, would mean Dart has almost certainly already visited with the Giants in East Rutherford. “If you’re the Giants and you view him as a first-round quarterback do you take him at 3? But then there’s no guarantee you’re going to get him in the back half of the first round if you trade back in,” Rapoport said.

The lack of true first-round grades in this class is notable. On average, most teams usually have 15 to 20 prospects who are considered true first-round talents. Two high-level NFL executives told me this week that neither of their teams reached that number. What does that mean? Expect to hear unlikely names in Round 1. Because of the lack of high-end talent, many teams are equating the quality of players in the middle of the first round to prospects in the middle of Round 2. […] After speaking with multiple scouts this week, Boston College edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku is a player teams are hot after in this loaded edge rusher group. He had a breakout senior season with the second-most sacks in the FBS (16.5), and he followed that up with a standout Senior Bowl performance. Viewed as an early Day 2 prospect in January, Ezeiruaku could now be picked as high as No. 15 to the Falcons or No. 18 to the Seahawks.
