The Miami Dolphins get back on the field tonight, just four days after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. Now, in Week 2, they host their AFC East rivals, the Buffalo BIlls.
The Miami Dolphins started the 2024 NFL season with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Just four days later, the team is back on the field tonight with their Week 2 contest against the Buffalo Bills. An early-season division rivalry takes center stage on Thursday Night Football.
Miami has struggled with the Bills over the past several years. The team has lost four straight to their AFC East rivals, including a playoff game in January 2023. The domination by the Bills stretches back even further than just those four games, with Buffalo having won 13 of the last 15 games, reaching back to the 2017 season. The Dolphins have work to do if they want to turn around that trend and truly compete for the division title this year.
They are not having any favors done for them on the injury front, where running back Raheem Mostert has been ruled out for the game and fellow runner De’Von Achane is listed as questionable. Miami’s offense is built on the passing game, with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa getting the ball into the hands of wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but the ground game is still an important aspect of how the team operates. Not having Mostert and potentially not having Achane could be a huge blow to the Dolphins’ game plan.
