Cincinnati was stunned by New England in the season opener.
Well… Sunday was a disaster from start to finish, as the Cincinnati Bengals were stunned by the New England Patriots in the season opener at Paycor Stadium.
The Bengals came out flat, shocked, and beaten in all three phases of the football game.
The team was unable to get any offense going in the first half, and the defense missed tackle after tackle.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky expressed his frustrations about Cincinnati and made some hard-hitting points that everyone seems to be on the same page about, except for Zac Taylor and the Bengals.
Offense-sit in the gun and catch and throw
Defense-missed tackles galore

“There is nothing physical about the Bengals on offense or defense. It’s all finesse,” Orlovsky stated.
“I’m shocked that there was nothing different about this offense. It is efficient, and that is it. I thought I was going to get something different out of this offense. I know it is only one game, but I’m so freaking frustrated watching this offense play football when all they do is line up in the shotgun and run four-yard routes.”
Orlovsky hit the nail on the head perfectly and summed up Bengals fans’ frustrations that have been brewing for multiple seasons.
The Bengals always start slow, but with the talent around Burrow, the offense should be hard to defend. Instead, it’s easy for opponents to stymie far too often.
