Darnay Holmes back in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Raiders have lost several defensive players in the past week of free agency, but they did bring back a defender Monday as ESPN reported rotational cornerback Darnay Holmes is coming back on a one-year contract.

Holmes spent last season in Las Vegas. He signed with the Raiders in August, a day after being cut by the New York Giants. Holmes played in 16 games last season with one start. He had three passes defensed. Holmes played, at least, 56 percent of the defensive snaps in six of the final nine games last season.
Holmes will likely be a rotational player and he can play some slot cornerback and there is a need with Nate Hobbs signing with the Green Bay Packers last week.
In addition to knowing some members of the Raiders’ defensive staff from last year, Holmes is also reunited with new Raiders’ offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who was his head coach at UCLA for two seasons.
The Raiders now have 10 unrestricted free agents remaining. They are:
Ameer Abdullah, running back.
Zach Carter, defensive tackle.
John Jenkins, defensive tackle.
Terrace Marshall, wide receiver.
Luke Masterson, linebacker
Andrus Peat, tackle.
Desmond Ridder (not tendered as RFA) quarterback.
Janarius Robinson, defensive end.
DJ Turner (not tendered as RFA) wide receiver.
Cody Whitehair, guard.
