Lawrence Taylor: Aging Giants legends are better than current team | USAToday.com
“I can tell you when we were lining up to go out to be introduced as the top 100 players,” Banks said on the Bleav in Giants podcast, “And a guy who never really comments on games because he doesn’t watch many of them, was Lawrence Taylor.
“He looked at me and this is a true story, folks. If you want to know what we were thinking at halftime, Lawrence looked at me and said, “Carl, I could pick 22 of us right now and go out and play better than these guys. We’d win this game.’ And the youngest guy in that like was probably 50 years old.”

Daniel Jones’ career in a nutshell
Daniel Jones play is so perplexing to me.
Giants fans HAVE to be feeling some type of way.

The Athletic’s NFL QB stock report, Week 2: Stroud, Mayfield shine, Cousins, Levis plummet | The Athletic
Daniel Jones, dropping three spot to 29, had a disastrous open. Jones, coming off a torn ACL, and the New York Giants weren’t competitive against the Minnesota Vikings. The pressure will continue to increase on all parties throughout the season if the results don’t improve.
Giants’ Daniel Jones looked like a broken QB, but benching him now would be an overreaction | The Athletic
Benching Jones after one ugly showing in his return from a torn ACL would be an overreaction. But it’s fair to wonder about the length of his leash.
Daboll had a quick hook for underperforming veterans in his first two seasons. Wide receiver Kenny Golladay was benched after one game in 2022, and guard Mark Glowinski got the same treatment last season.

Giants in crisis — and it’s only Week 1 | ESPN.com
“It’s on the leaders, the captains of the team, to get everyone’s minds right and get everyone ready for the new week,” Lawrence said after Sunday’s loss. “Flush this. Own it first of all. Own your bad plays, own your good plays. It’s on us to turn the page and get the guys ready for a new week, new challenge.”
State of Giants: The good, the bad and the ugly heading to Washington | The Record
Tyler Nubin was one of three players on the Giants’ defense to play every snap Sunday in his NFL debut. He led the team in tackles with seven, including five solos, and the best thing about the second-round safety is that he makes many of his plays coming forward, not waiting for plays to come to him as the last line of defense. Dru Phillips forced a fumble and had four tackles in the nickel, showing his toughness and playmaking ability. Darius Muasau started next to Bobby Okereke and had an interception of Sam Darnold late with six tackles.
Giants HC Brian Daboll Clarifies WR Jalin Hyatt’s Status | SI.com
“Yeah, he’s our third/fourth receiver,” Giants head coach Brian Daboll said when asked about Hyatt’s status. “So, you play with Nabers and Wan’Dale is in the slot. And (wide receiver Darius) Slayton played the majority of the snaps ahead of Hyatt….We have certain plays and roles for Jalin. And that could change week to week, but this week that’s what it was.”

Brian Daboll better have Giants answers — even if he isn’t willing to share them | New York Post
That’s what’s on Daboll now, in Year 3. Nobody expects a Super Bowl. Only the most pie-eyed optimists envisioned a plus-.500 season. If he wants to be bland and vanilla in his postgame remarks, or his day-after comments, if he is forever insisting “I need to see the film” … well, that’s tough for reporters with empty notebooks and fans with emptier drives home after witnessing a thumping…Book this, too: So will Daboll. If the Giants turn it around on Daboll’s watch, nobody will care that he’s a dull quote.
Giants on Bill ‘Belichick watch’ after Week 1 disaster, host says | NJ.com
Bill Simmons started the countdown for when he predicts Bill Belichick will be the Giants’ head coach. Simmons said on his show he can foresee Giants owner John Mara growing impatient with general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll should the Giants continue to spiraling after their Week 1 blowout 28-6 loss to the Vikings. He said if they are fired, Belichick would become the No. 1 candidate to be the next coach.

Why the Commanders lost: The Commanders’ secondary struggled in coverage all day as Mayfield spliced them up, allowing 11.7 yards per completion. Eight defenders earned a sub-60.0 PFF coverage grade.

Commanders release K Cade York, are expected to sign Austin Seibert | Pro Football Talk
Cade York missed a pair of field goals in Sunday’s 37-20 loss to the Buccaneers and the Commanders announced that he has been released on Monday. York did make both extra points he tried during the game. The team signed Austin Seibert as their new kicker. Seibert was also drafted by the Browns — 2019 fifth-round — and is 45-of-53 on field goals and 56-of-62 on extra points for his career.
