The Miami Dolphins dropped from four compensatory picks in 2025 to three in a ‘recalculation’ by the NFL.

The NFL announced their 2025 compensatory draft picks earlier this week, awarding the Miami Dolphins four of the 35 additional selections for April’s selection process. Miami added a third-round pick (98th overall), a fourth-round selection (135th), and two seventh-round picks (253rd and 256th). On Friday, the league informed the team of a “recalculation” of the compensatory pick formula, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, removing one of Miami’s seventh-round picks.

The New Orleans Saints were awarded the pick, along with the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers moving back a pick to create space for the Saints’ new pick. While Peliserro did not indicate which of the picks initially awarded to Miami, the move of the Browns and Chargers would indicate the Dolphins lost the 256th selection, with that becoming the 254th pick, with Cleveland moving back to the 255th pick and the Chargers taking the 256th selection.

The change leaves Miami with 10 picks in the draft, including two from previously completed trades. The Dolphins will have an extra fifth-round pick from the Denver Broncos as part of the 2023 trade for linebacker Bradley Chubb and an additional seventh-round pick from the Chicago Bears from the 2023 trade for wide receiver Chase Claypool.

The Dolphins full slate of scheduled picks are:

Round 1 – 13th overall
Round 2 – 48th overall
Round 3 – 98th overall (compensatory)
Round 4 – 116th overall
Round 4 – 135th overall (compensatory)
Round 5 – 150th overall
Round 5 – 155th overall (from Broncos)
Round 7 – 224th overall (from Bears)
Round 7 – 231st overall
Round 7 – 253rd overall (compensatory)
