DeMarcus Lawrence roasted the Cowboys and Micah Parsons clapped back

It might not have been on purpose, but it was an honest take on the situation.

The Dallas Cowboys lost their four-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Lawrence to the Seattle Seahawks in free agency this week, with the DE signing a three-year, $42 million deal. As Lawrence looks to close one chapter and open another, during a recent interview in his new facility, he was sure to note that Dallas will always be his home, but included a brutal parting shot.

“Dallas is my home. Made my home there, my family live there. I’m forever gonna be there, but I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there.”

He’s not wrong but it’s hilarious that he would say it out loud. It’s also hilarious because it triggered Micah Parson who chimed in, resulting in Lawrence roasting him, too.

“Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.”

In all seriousness, he was probably just trying to hype up his new team, but the dig was rooted in honesty. Lawrence probably knows better than most how the Cowboys’ organization is run, and after signing several new deals with the team since 2017, knew he’d be looking elsewhere in this year’s free agency.

Lawrence missed most of the 2024 season with an injury, but said that he was still able to play and do so at a high level. Thankfully, he’s not someone the Eagles will have to face very often, let alone twice in a year.
