They actually got something in return for him
After making a couple of big signings on the offensive line early in free agency, the Minnesota Vikings needed to make some other moves, and one of those moves has just come across the wire.
According to numerous sources, the Vikings are trading guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans. In exchange, the Vikings will receive a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Ingram was one of the Vikings’ two second-round picks in 2022, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s first draft as the Vikings’ GM. He appeared in 48 of a possible 51 regular season games in his three seasons with the Vikings, with 41 of those appearances being starts. He played all of those games at right guard and was eventually benched for Dalton Risner in the later part of this past season.
It didn’t seem likely that Ingram was going to get back into the starting lineup with the Vikings, and now he gets an opportunity to reboot his career for a Houston team that is going through a bit of a rebuild on the offensive line themselves.
The trade also opens up another $3.4 million in cap space for the Vikings as free agency continues on.
The Vikings found a taker for Ed Ingram on the trade market, folks. Don’t tell me for one second that the front office isn’t dialed in right now.
