Philadelphia is adding TE depth.

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with free agent tight end Harrison Bryant on a one-year contract worth up to $2 million, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Hey, Howie Roseman, that’s not how you spell “Michael Mayer.” You got the wrong Las Vegas Raiders tight end!

Attempt at humor aside, Bryant is a 26-year-old who originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick (No. 115 overall) by the Cleveland Browns in the 2020 NFL Draft. Logging 30 starts in 65 games played, here are Bryant’s average season numbers from the first four years of his career: 32 targets, 22 receptions, 198 yards (8.9 average), 3 TD.

Bryant left the Browns in free agency last year to sign a one-year contract with the Raiders. He was the third tight end on the depth chart in Las Vegas since he was behind rookie sensation Brock Browers and the aforementioned Mayer. As a result, Bryant saw just 12 targets that resulted in nine receptions for 86 yards.

The Eagles signing Bryant gives them more depth at the tight end position. And that much was needed since 1) rumors indicate Dallas Goedert might not be back in 2025 and 2) the players behind Goedert are currently Grant Calcaterra (entering a contract year), E.J. Jenkins, Nick Muse, and Cameron Latu. Not exactly the most confidence inspiring group.

By Pro Football Focus standards, Bryant has graded out as a below average run blocker but an above average pass blocker in his career. Assuming he makes the roster and depending on how other tight end moves shake out, Bryant could either be TE2 or TE3 for the Eagles in 2025.

Pre-draft scouting report via Lance Zierlein:

Bryant’s plus athletic traits, high football IQ and toughness as a blocker make him one of the most talented, well-rounded tight ends in this draft. He’s a little light to be considered for full-time work as a “Y” tight end, but his technique and tenacity should not be discounted in his ability to help the running game. He’s instinctive in space with speed and separation talent to work all three levels and gives offensive coordinators the freedom to line him up all over the field. Bryant could become an early starter and has the talent to be a high volume pass-catching target as a move tight end.
