What to expect from young pass-rusher
The Las Vegas Raiders’ signed defensive end Charles Snowden off the practice squad last week after starter Malcolm Koonce went on the injured reserve with a knee injury.
Let’s look at what to expect from Snowden in the 2024 NFL season:
Size:
6-7, 245 pounds.
NFL experience:
Snowden played in two NFL games, with the Chicago Bears in 2021 prior to starting Sunday’s game for the Raiders, in which he played 53 percent of the snaps. He spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ program in 2022-23.
What he offers Raiders in 2024:
Right now, he’s a backup. But because of injuries, he will have a chance to show he cam be part of the pass-rush rotation.
Best-case 2024 scenario:
He shows he belongs in the NFL and Snowden, 26, shows his has the size, speed and skill to become a rotational pass-rusher for the Raiders as they try to move on from Koonce’s injury.
