Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …
2025 NFL free agency: Ranking top 100 players, QBs available – ESPN+
4. Josh Sweat, Edge. 2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 28. A productive rusher in Vic Fangio’s front in Philadelphia, Sweat had eight sacks and 33 pressures last season. He’s a long, angular mover who can win with speed-to-power, and he has built-in counters to disengage from offensive tackles. Given his age, positional value and ability to hit the quarterback, Sweat makes our top 10. […] 5. Milton Williams, DT. 2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 26. Williams has the strength to displace blockers at the point of attack, with the light feet and short-area burst to slip interior offensive linemen as a pass rusher. He had five sacks and 18 pressures in 2024 with the Eagles. The arrow is pointing up. […] 23. Mekhi Becton, G. 2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 26. The 2020 first-round offensive tackle bumped inside to guard last season after signing a one-year contract with the Eagles. Becton uses his massive 6-7, 363-pound frame to overwhelm and move defenders in the run game. He has the physical tools and footwork to also win as a pass protector. Just entering his prime years, he should see interest as a guard or tackle.
NFL’s Top 50 free agents, ranked, with predictions for where they’ll land – SB Nation
No. 41: OL Mekhi Becton. Past team: Philadelphia Eagles. Prediction: Tennessee Titans. I think Becton’s market is going to be interesting to watch. Does he remain at guard, or try and get tackle money in free agency? His best year was as an emphatic run blocking guard, but someone is going to bank on the potential.
NFL free agency rumors: Eagles want fourth-round draft pick for Dallas Goedert – BGN
Rumors picked up late last week that the Eagles were open to trading Dallas Goedert this offseason with many agreeing that the tight end would probably be playing elsewhere in 2025. On the eve of the free agency legal tampering period, more details are emerging and the Eagles appear to still be holding out hope to get a fourth-round pick for Goedert.
2025 Offseason Plans – Iggles Blitz
I like to think I know a lot about the Eagles and what’s going on. I don’t understand TE right now. Several of the beat reporters are talking about the Eagles trading Dallas Goedert. He’s in the final year of his deal. Maybe he’s asked for an extension or some more money. I haven’t seen that reported. Even if the Eagles keep Goedert I think they need another TE. If he gets moved, they’ll need two. Goedert is a good player. I think you want to keep him. I understand there are cap considerations. The team might want a lower cap number for this year and that could lead to something. We’ll see how this all plays out. Grant Calcaterra is talented, but he’s not ready to be a starting TE. I think he’s more of a #3. The draft has a deep group of TEs and the Eagles could go for one early. Mason Taylor from LSU would be of interest if the Eagles trade back from 32 into the early 2nd round. He is a gifted receiver and effective blocker.
Eagles free agency: 8 thoughts ahead of tampering period, from Myles Garrett staying to Milton Williams’ popularity to Isaiah Rodgers’ interest – PHLY
6. The spot where the Eagles could sign a notable free agent who counts against the formula is edge rusher. I’d pay attention to Khalil Mack and Azeez Ojulari — two players with opposite profiles. Mack is a veteran who might be ring chasing, has experience with Fangio, and would be a short-term Band-Aid at a position in transition. Ojulari doesn’t turn 25 until June and would be an upside swing similar to Bryce Huff last year, although presumably at a lower cost. The Eagles could be in the market for either player.
How Teams Spend on Higher Priced Players in the NFL – Over The Cap
As we near free agency we are seeing more and more discussions about certain teams unwilling to extend players and instead play games with contracts and the trade markets. Points are made about some teams being cheap and others reaping the benefits by spending money so I thought it might be good to look at the actual numbers. One of the things that I think we all lose sight of in these discussions is that sometimes paying just for the sake of paying isn’t necessarily a good model for winning football. While we often point to the Eagles about having a salary heavy roster they also have players worth spending the money on. The majority of their big player signings are those that they drafted. Other teams that have been less successful do not have the type of players worth spending big dollars on. While salary cutoffs will always be arbitrary I wanted to use two different ones to take a snapshot of rosters today. The first is a $15 million per year cutoff and the 2nd would be a $10 million per year cutoff.
Pre-Free Agency 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Giants trade up for Cam Ward, Browns zero in on Shedeur Sanders – PFF
32. Philadelphia Eagles: EDGE Nic Scourton, Texas A&M. The Eagles could stand to add more to their edge room if Josh Sweat departs in free agency. Scourton is an ideal scheme fit as a stand-up rusher and ranks 11th among Power Four edge defenders since 2023 in PFF pass-rushing grade (90.8) while placing second in tackles for loss or no gain (21)
9 free agents the Patriots have been linked to ahead of the NFL legal tampering period – Pats Pulpit
DT Milton Williams: The Patriots’ defensive line is set to see some changes this offseason, in large part because of new head coach Mike Vrabel preferring a more attacking style up front. The shift would make Williams a perfect fit and natural target to pursue — something the Patriots are expected to do even if he comes in at a cost upward of $20 million per year. The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder, after all, showed impressive improvement in his four years with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Washington Commanders Roster Moves: Zach Ertz re-signed to 1-year deal – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders are bringing TE Zach Ertz back for another year. The veteran TE signed a 1-year deal last year, and had his best season in years. He was a great outlet for rookie QB Jayden Daniels, and he will continue to catch passes from him for another year. Ertz had 66 receptions for 654 yards and 7 TDs during the regular season, and he added another 18 catches for 255 yards and TD during the playoffs.
Oddsmakers like Aaron’ Rodgers chance of being a New York Giant — will they be right? – Big Blue View
Oddsmakers are becoming increasingly convinced that veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers will sign with the New York Giants once he is officially released by the New York Jets. In Vegas, there seems to be a lot of Rodgers to the Giants momentum.
Looking at potential signings if the Cowboys made one semi-splashy move in free agency – Blogging The Boys
Jonathan Allen (Washington Commanders). After eight seasons in Washington, Allen was released in a cap-saving move. He’s 30 years old and coming off a torn left pectoral muscle injury. There were teams pondering making a trade for him, but thought his price would be cheaper on the free agent market. The Cowboys just signed Osa Odighizuwa to a new four-year deal, so it doesn’t seem like they would commit additional resources at the position. Market price: Less than $15.5 million
