Finally, some good news.
The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed tight end Mike Gesicki, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. It’s a three-year deal worth $25.5 million. Full contract details have yet to be disclosed.
This is massive news for a Bengals franchise that’s been under fire for not getting deals done with its top free agents.
Well, now they’ve re-signed one of their top offensive weapons while also finally giving this franchise some stability at the tight end position after years of one-year rentals.
Gesicki signed a one-year prove-it deal during the 2024 offseason, and boy, did it pay off in a big way. He caught 65 passes for 665 yards and two touchdowns. His 665 yards were the third-highest of his seven-year career, and he’s only the second tight end in team history to have over 600 receiving yards since the 2000 season, joining Jermaine Gresham in 2012.
Now, the Bengals will look to get Tee Higgins re-signed and Ja’Marr Chase extended. It appears Trey Hendrickson is going to get traded, and the fact that Gesicki just got his extension only adds to that likelihood.
This is one to celebrate, Bengals fans!
