NFL Mock Draft 2025: Eagles 7-round simulation, Version 1.0

How would you grade this projection?

Welcome to this year’s Mock Simulation Series! Each week, I will run a simulation of the 2025 NFL Draft for the Philadelphia Eagles using the Pro Football Focus Draft Simulator. In a post-Combine landscape, draft outlooks are subject to change with NFL free agency and pro days still on the horizon. A lot can shift but here’s how things could shake out as of today.

Round 1, Pick 32 (for the Super Bowl Winner): Jalon Walker, LB/Edge, Georgia

The Eagles will need to address losing Josh Sweat to free agency and the fact that the rest of their edge depth is shaky with Nolan Smith recovering from surgery and Bryce Huff a huge question mark. Jalon Walker is a bit of a project, but his upside is immense as a hybrid defender who can play off-ball and drop down onto the line in obvious rushing situations. The Eagles have done well with undersized edge defenders and Walker fits right into that mold.

Round 2, Pick 64: Benjamin Morrison, Cornerback, Notre Dame

Last year, the Eagles capitalized on Cooper DeJean falling in the draft due to injury concerns. The rest was history. Now history can repeat itself with snagging Benjamin Morrison in the second round. The Notre Dame defender has all the tools to be a top cover guy. He just needs to get healthy. Having him opposite of Quinyon Mitchell (with DeJean in the slot) would give the Eagles a really scary, young secondary.

Round 3, Pick 96: Isaiah Bond, Wide Receiver, Texas

WR3 remains a notable gap on this very talented offense. The Eagles filled in those snaps by committee with Johnny Wilson, Jahan Dotson, and Ainias Smith, but they could use a legitimate threat there to take attention away from AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith in the passing game. Isaiah Bond is intriguing given his immense speed. While he won’t be a top option at any point due to size concerns, he could be quite a problem for defenses if they are singling him up in the Eagles offense.

Round 4, Pick 129: Mitchell Evans, Tight End, Notre Dame

It will be interesting to see how the Eagles handle the tight end position this offseason. Dallas Goedert is 30 and hasn’t played a full season in three years. He is still a great player when he’s on the field, but the Eagles need some depth behind him. Mitchell Evans is a talented player who was underutilized at Notre Dame. It’s possible his best football is still very much ahead of him.

Round 5, Pick 162: Tyler Cooper, Guard, Minnesota

It wouldn’t be an Eagles draft without a big offensive lineman. Tyler Cooper has good size and strength and is an adept run blocker. I’d expect him to come in and immediately push for snaps if the Eagles don’t re-sign Mekhi Becton.

Round 5, Pick 166: Bhayshul Tuen, Running Back, Virginia Tech

Saquon Barkley’s workload will likely look a bit different next year as he’s coming off a historic season where he racked up a ton of touches. Getting the ball to other backs will be important to keep Barkley fresh and Bhayshul Tuten feels like a great candidate to play as RB2. Tuten has unreal athleticism and home run potential. He is a short, muscular back who is a pain in the butt to tackle. The 1-2 punch of defending against Barkley and him (and Hurts, I guess) would put a strain on defenses.

Round 5 Pick, Pick 169: Tonka Hemingway, Defensive Lineman, South Carolina

Losing Milton Williams in free agency is big. Williams was an excellent rotational player who dominated in the playoffs. Tonka Hemingway is a bit undersized as a defensive tackle, but he is an excellent pass rusher that could be maximized in a limited capacity.
