Raiders reportedly interested in trading for veteran quarterback
The report stated the Raiders have been joined by the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Cleveland Browns and other unnamed teams to express interest in Stafford.
The Rams are allowing Stafford to talk to other teams to gauge trade interest. However, there are reports that the Rams and Stafford are not completely done with each other and the two sides could still come back and agree to a contract extension.
Stafford turned 37 earlier this month and he likely doesn’t have many years remaining in his career. Plus, the Rams want a premium draft pick for him and Stafford reportedly wants to be paid in the $50 million a season range.
While he would be costly in both terms of trade compensation and salary, Stafford may be one of the best options at quarterback in terms of helping the Raiders improve for the 2025 season.
