Random Ramsdom: Stetson Bennett more likely to be on roster than Stafford?

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 2/18/24

Hello, and thanks for checking out today’s Random Ramsdom, which I am using to point out that Stetson Bennett may have a higher chance of staying on the Los Angeles Rams roster than Matthew Stafford. How likely is that? I have no idea, but Bennett is still on his rookie deal and right now he seems set to return to L.A.

Jimmy Garoppolo could be back with the team, but that is to be determined. Will the Rams go into the season with Stetson as a starter? It’s a non-zero chance, but that’s about it.

I still think the Rams make something work with Stafford, but I wouldn’t be shocked at all if they trade him and roll with Garoppolo for a year, or even try and make a move for Sam Darnold. Could the Rams make a move for Jameis Winston?

So many options and at this time there just isn’t too much clarity. Feel free to comment on whatever you’d like, thanks for checking out today’s links and have a great day!

Stetson Bennett is the only QB constant as LA Rams face offseason labyrinth (ramblinfan)

“When it comes to LA Rams young backup quarterback Steton Bennett, there really was not much different between what fans saw in 2023 versus 2024. Let me explain. In 2023, the fans saw glimpses of rookie QB Stetson Bennett in training camp and in preseason games. But one the season started, Bennett needed time away from the team to sort through mental exhaustion.

That didn’t sit well with Rams fans, many of whom have yet to forgive him for his absence.”

Chiefs Players Convinced Cooper Kupp Bombshell is True: Report (athlonsports.com)

“Adding an All-Pro pass-catcher of Kupp’s caliber makes a lot of sense for Kansas City, and several players on the team believe the Chiefs will go all-in on acquiring him this offseason.

“We are all almost sure that the team will push for a trade of another massive player, such as Cooper Kupp, that we all know that is the team’s wish to add to the roster,” an anonymous player told the U.S. Sun.”

REPORT: Rams Had One of the Top Draft Hauls Last Offseason (si.com)

The Rams general manager [Les Snead] has long maximized Los Angeles’ non-premium picks, routinely finding starters in the latter rounds of the draft,” Filice said. “But last April, Snead made a first-round pick for the first time since Barack Obama was president, and that selection ran away with Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Edge beast Jared Verse racked up the fourth-most pressures in the entire league during the regular season — only trailing pass-rushing luminaries Myles Garrett, Danielle Hunter and Trey Hendrickson, per Next Gen Stats — and then terrorized the [Minnesota] Vikings and [Philadelphia] Eagles in the playoffs.”
