Random Ramsdom: L.A. to go from first to worst?

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 2/15/25

You can check out a bold prediction about the Los Angeles Rams below, and please keep in mind this is a bold prediction, but long story short is the writer (Kyle Soppe) calls his shot that the Rams can go from the first in the NFC West to last.

What do you think about that?

I think that’s a exactly what the headline says it is: A bold take. Injury can derail any team, but if L.A. stays healthy then they can compete with what they have now, and this team has the offseason and the draft to get better.

Will the ball bounce L.A.’s way? That’s one of many variables, but at face value I would expect the Rams have a chance to win against anyone next year. Of course, much can change between now and the start of the season. Maybe this take about the Rams struggling won’t be so hot in the coming months.

Either way, hope you had a nice and lovely Friday, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Saturday!

NFL Bold Predictions for 2025: Dolphins Fire Mike McDaniel, James Cook Breaks Records, Cowboys Eye Arch Manning, and More (profootballnetwork)

“Los Angeles Rams

The Rams go from first to worst in the NFC West

Los Angeles nearly pulled this off in the 2022 season and the 49ers did in 2024.

With Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp possibly on the move, a team that was walking a fine line to begin with could see their house of cards come crumbling down in a major way. It’s easy to project a significant dropoff on the offensive side of the ball (C+ grade in Offense+ last season, 11th best), and the writing is on the wall when it comes to the defense.

Sack Rates

2019-21: 8.1% (second)

2022-24: 6.4% (23rd)

Aaron Donald isn’t coming back and if the offense takes a step back, this flaw figures to be even more impactful as this team will require their defense to make more plays in 2025 than in recent seasons with the floor elevating Stafford under center.

We all know the value that the quarterback position holds and so it stands to reason that making the opponents’ QB uncomfortable is tied to success when it comes to defenses.”

Rams share punny Valentine’s Day cards featuring Matthew Stafford, but not Cooper Kupp (theramswire)

“Kupp didn’t seem overly thrilled about the fact that he’ll most likely be traded, saying in his announcement earlier this month that he doesn’t agree with the decision and believed he’d finish his career with the Rams. It’ll take a minor miracle for Kupp to remain in L.A. and it seems the team is already moving on.

Keeping with tradition, the Rams shared some punny Valentine’s Day cards with their fans on social media and notably, Cooper Kupp wasn’t one of the players featured. Matthew Stafford was, however, which has fans thinking he’ll remain with the Rams.

Others include Sean McVay, Jared Verse, Beaux Limmer, Kevin Dotson and Omar Speights.”

Kelly Stafford’s Cryptic Post Causes Fans to Question Matthew Stafford’s Future With Rams (athlonsports)

“For the teams who feel as if they are a quarterback away from contending, their best bet may be to trade for one. A popular name being thrown around is Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. The 37-year-old Super Bowl champion has two years left on his deal, but is guaranteed just $4 million in that time. The expectation is that he will return in 2025, but not without a bit of reworking on his deal.

In the meantime, his name is being tossed around in rumors, with teams like the New York Giants soaring to the forefront of the potential sweepstakes. While Stafford has been quiet throughout the process, his wife, Kelly Stafford, has taken a different approach.”
