PFF: Amari Cooper should leave Bills during 2025 NFL free agency
It feels like Amari Cooper only just joined the Buffalo Bills, but it has been suggested he heads elsewhere this offseason.
Pro Football Focus named Cooper the seventh-best pending free agent in the NFL this offseason. It’s likely he will test the market and the football analytics outlet sees a match with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cooper was landed in a trade in the middle of the 2024 season. Because of injury, his production dropped. However, he has a positive track record and consistently said he liked being in Buffalo.
Hampered by a wrist injury, the 30-year-old only had 20 catches for 297 yards and two touchdowns with the Bills.
PFF’s breakdown on Cooper and the Steelers can be found below:
The 30-year-old Cooper will have his fair share of suitors on the open market, likely teams looking to add quality veteran leadership to their receiver room. What better place to provide that presence than a team with a history of animated receivers like Pittsburgh?
The Steelers were actively shopping for receiving help at the trade deadline, with reports linking them to several options, including the former Brown. Pairing the even-keeled Cooper with George Pickens would be a prudent move to calm the Steelers’ receiver room and split defensive attention.
