The Super Bowl winning roster was a special group, and it’ll be hard to lose anybody in the coming months.
The Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles are actually in great shape heading into the offseason, with free agency only affecting a few of their top playmakers. To no one’s surprise, Howie Roseman has done a great job setting up this ultra-talented roster for the future, but there are a couple guys he signed to one year “prove-it” deals that absolutely proved they’re worth big money.
The Eagles have just over $18 million in cap space heading into free agency, but that doesn’t really mean a whole lot when you’ve got a magician GM who knows how to re-work existing contracts, and an owner who isn’t afraid to put his money on the line for the betterment of the team.
Offense
The Eagles will be pretty consistent on offense, returning just about every single starter for several more years. The only starter not locked in for 2025 is Mekhi Becton, who will likely be a priority for Roseman to sign this offseason. The success Becton had moving from tackle to guard was a masterclass by Jeff Stoutland — who credited Nick Sirianni with suggesting the move — but will solidify that front line moving forward.
It wouldn’t be surprising for the Eagles to bring back Jack Driscoll and Fred Johnson, at least for OTAs and training camp, and Britain Covey is someone that Sirianni and the locker room really appreciate. As great as Kenny Gainwell has been, they have Will Shipley returning for his second season, and this is a really deep draft class at the position, so the Eagles could get someone competent on a rookie deal in the later rounds.

Defense
The defense is where, unfortunately, the Eagles will probably lose a couple of key players. Roseman will absolutely work to bring All-Pro Zack Baun back, and the linebacker has expressed his desire to stay in Philly. It also wouldn’t be surprising to see Milton Williams return to Philly, especially with Vic Fangio being so complimentary of the lineman throughout the season.
Roseman took a risk when he signed Isaiah Rodgers while the CB was still serving his NFL suspension, but that kind move can create some loyalty between the pair. Rodgers stepped in for Darius Slay on many occasions throughout the season, and time-after-time made huge plays for the Eagles defense. He’s someone who could be a long term fit alongside Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the backfield.
Oren Burks is another guy who stepped up to the plate for the Eagles and could be a cost-efficient developmental player that the team keeps around.
Veteran edge rusher Brandon Graham will likely officially announce his retirement in the coming weeks, especially after being able to return to play in the Super Bowl. But, Josh Sweat is someone who will be tough to lose. He hired new representation heading into free agency because he knows that some team is about to pay him handsomely — and unfortunately, the Eagles probably aren’t that team.
