The Dolphins are set to hire Bobby Slowik as the team’s senior pass game coordinator, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting.
Darrell Bevell may be staying home after Chip Kelly officially accepted the Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator position, but that didn’t stop head coach Mike McDaniel from adding another offensive mind to his coaching staff.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik will join the Miami Dolphins as a senior passing game coordinator.

Slowik, 37, will come to Miami after spending the last two seasons calling plays alongside DeMeco Ryans in Houston. Last season, the Texans finished 22nd in yards per game with 319.7 and 19th in points per game with 21.9. This, along with their disappointing postseason, led to the Texans parting ways with Slowik. He will now be reunited with McDaniel in Miami, with whom he worked alongside for five seasons in San Francisco. Additionally, Bobby will join his brother Ryan Slowik, who is currently the Dolphins defensive backs coach and pass game specialist.
The Princeton, New Jersey native began coaching in 2011 as a defensive assistant with the Washington Commanders. After taking a few years off, Slowik joined the San Francisco in 2017 as a defensive quality control coach before being promoted to offensive assistant in 2019. He would later take over as an offensive pass game specialist in 2021 before becoming the 49ers’ offensive pass game coordinator in 2022.
Slowik later left to become the offensive coordinator alongside Ryans in Houston. Now, he will be in the same room as quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell, Offensive Coordinator Frank Smith, and the rest of Miami’s offensive coaching staff with one common goal: Get the Miami Dolphins back to creating explosive plays and winning meaningful football games.
