There’s no doubt the Eagles kicker will play an important role in Sunday’s game, and he’s making sure he’s ready for his moment.
Jake Elliott had a reputation as being one of the most reliable kickers in the NFL, but the 2024 season came with some challenges. The formerly near-perfect, always clutch kicker had his share of struggles, including eight missed field goal attempts and four missed point after kicks this year.
There’s no doubt that Elliott knows how important his role will be against the Chiefs, and he’s taking it seriously enough to be the very first player out on the field in New Orleans.

Kansas City is not a team you can miss points against and still manage to win, as they’ve proven throughout the many narrow wins they’ve had this season. Elliott’s success on Sunday will directly relate to the Eagles success, and he’s making sure that he’s as mentally prepared as possible before kickoff.
The Eagles kicker is one of few players still around from the Super Bowl winning team from 2018, so it’s great to see him taking any steps he thinks necessary to be ready when his number is called.
